MongoDB is looking for a talented and results-driven Strategic Events Coordinator to support the team in executing internal and executive programs. The Strategic Events Coordinator will be a critical member of the Strategic Event team, and will focus on standalone internal and executive programs, as well as executive peripheral activities as part of our larger, global programs. 

In this role, you will work closely with the Strategic Events team and the extended Field Marketing team to plan and execute a wide range of multi-pronged campaigns and event programming to generate awareness and drive adoption of MongoDB at the executive level, as well as galvanize internal teams around MongoDB’s mission and initiatives with large-scale internal events (Sales Kickoffs, etc). This person will assist with all aspects of MongoDB Strategic Events and will focus specifically on the MongoDB Customer Advisory Board program, our internal Sales and Marketing Kickoffs, and various executive elements of our first-party strategic events (MongoDB World & the MongoDB.local program). They will also play a key support role in third party events, cloud events, and other marketing initiatives and programs as needed. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Global Strategic Events.

This role is remote optional until April 4, 2022, we are looking to speak to candidates who plan to be available in NYC for when we introduce our hybrid model.

Position Expectations

  • Work with Sr. Manager, Global Strategic Events on internal and executive strategic programs globally
  • Support end-to-end event coordination and production, including: materials creation, event messaging/marketing, signage, giveaways, contract negotiation, vendor relations, site selection, accommodations, participant invitation and registration, agenda curation, executive scheduling, staffing, on-site production, F&B, post-event reporting and follow up
  • Demonstrate a level of confidence and professionalism appropriate for interfacing with senior executives, both internal and external 
  • Assist in program reporting, deliver thoughtful wrap-up reports and ROI analysis, and generate learnings for improvement and optimization
  • Work with the Field Marketing team to drive sales enablement around the promotion of these events
  • Work with the Integrated Marketing team, Design team, and other cross-functional groups to ensure strategic events are supported with well-rounded, multi-pronged campaigns
  • Assist in the management of budgets and ROI evaluations for all campaigns

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • 1-3 years of event, event marketing, or field marketing experience
  • Familiarity with producing virtual, hybrid, and in-person events
  • Proven ability to take direction and input, to develop engaging and impactful programs to achieve organizational goals
  • Ability to interface with senior level executives and leadership both internally and externally
  • Proactive, self-starter, “get it done” attitude
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting aggressive deadlines
  • Demonstrates a metrics-driven approach to success and can show Return on Investment (ROI) by tracking results from marketing activity against a budget
  • Attention to detail and highly organized an absolute must
  • Comfort working independently and part of a large, distributed, global team
  • Proven track record of working cross-functionally and collaboratively with multiple teams throughout the organization
  • Familiarity with Salesforce as well as marketing automation tools 
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (preferred) and/or Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong project management and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience copywriting or crafting compelling, audience-centric content
  • Flexible and solution-oriented with excellent time management skills
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20-30% (domestically & globally)
  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Based in New York, NY
