8 month contract

Mid July — Mid March

We’re looking for a dedicated Brand Designer to join our Brand Studio for 8 months to cover for a designer on leave. The designer will primarily focus on integrated marketing campaigns, event design, and art direction of brand-driven initiatives.

The right person thrives on determining what makes a brand connect with its audiences and is skilled at all aspects of visual design—digital and print.

Seriously creative and strategic, loves working cross-functionally to bring outstanding ideas to life across multiple channels.

They have extensive experience crafting a breadth of brands, including ones with two-sided marketplaces.

Sitting with the marketing team, and reporting to the Design Director for Brand Studio, the Sr Brand Designer will help craft how our brand shows up for our restaurants and our diners—developing outstanding creative that help us meaningfully connect with our audiences.

The work they will do will reflect their passion and curiosity about dining and restaurant culture.

About our team

Brand Studio sits within the marketing organization and collaborates closely with all the teams to bring to life OpenTable's defining products and experiences.

In this role, you will:

  • Creative lead on Integrated Campaigns: Partner with designers in driving creative direction and asset production for global, strategic campaigns—.ie., holidays and key partnerships projects.
  • Partner with our Events Team: Be a key partner to our Marketing Events team—brainstorm creative, engaging activations and bring them to life–everything from invites, menus, & swag to large format signage and graphics. Event examples include booths at food festivals, customized dinner series, and brand partnerships.
  • Primary designer for Content Systems & Smaller Holidays: Be to the sole designer on content-forward campaigns that span social & blog, along with smaller tier holidays
  • Steward of the Brand: Ideate and complete design projects that build on our brand guidelines and deliver outstanding results
  • Systems Problem solver: Codify new solutions into clear and easy-to-follow guidelines that will augment our standards. Partner closely with your team members to transform opportunities into projects that make a difference

Please apply if:

  • You have 6+ years of proven experience (re)shaping brands. You are insights-curious and are a customer advocate. And you truly understand how the right visual system can tighten the relationship between a brand and its audience.
  • You have an outstanding portfolio featuring examples of dining or hospitality-related work. We’ll want to see examples of visual identity systems and real world applications, both digital and physical.
  • You are collaborative and work well with design, marketing, product teams to scope, shape and deliver projects that propel brands (and business!) forward.
  • You're a great teammate and love working with designers to brainstorm and ideate creative concepts that deliver on our strategic plans.
  • storytelling comes naturally and are able to thoughtfully articulate the rationale behind your design choices
  • You are passionate about demonstrating the value of brand and design and you can eloquently speak to its business impact.
  • Proven experience working with B2B and B2C business—ideally on the agency side and in-house.
  • You’re passionate about all things dining and food culture
  • Comfortable using Figma
