About the Role

A great website is the result of innumerable design decisions, both big and small. As a Senior Interactive Designer, you will be responsible for improving the experience of ramp.com. You’ll do this by prototyping new ideas, creating patterns, developing systems, and designing joyful details into the site. You’ll need to possess a refined eye for typography, motion, and a deep interest in usability, accessibility, web standards, and evolving trends in web-design. This position sits within our Brand Studio team and reports into the Associate Creative Director of Design Systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Work cross-functionally with designers, writers, marketers, and engineers
  • Systems focused work across crucial web experiences and raise the bar for our website
  • Create patterns, and then adapt those patterns to different contexts
  • Define how elements on our site behave and relate to each other across viewports
  • Develop designs with balanced brand expression and utility
  • Be a champion for the brand and how its consistently applied
  • Prototype designs to test concepts
  • Work iteratively—letting user behavior inform new ideas
  • Collaborate with engineering to quickly execute elegant solutions at scale

What You Need

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in visual design for web
  • BA or BFA in Graphic Design or adequate experience working in the industry preferred
  • Experience in motion and prototyping
  • Empathy with a grasp of the mental models that make design systems understandable
  • Proficiency in but not limited to Figma, Framer, Principle, After Effects
  • Ability to tackle complex problems from both a high level (systems level) and from a tactical/executional level
  • Strong grasp of interface-design skills— understanding of the impact of motion, viewport sizes, etc
  • Strong communication and excellent collaboration skills
  • Ability to estimate timelines and manage time effectively
  • Navigate ambiguity in a fast paced environment; be a self starter and proactive; Kind, curious, and creative

Nice to Haves

  • Deep design systems experience
  • Experience partnering with Growth Marketing organizations
  • Experience with Webflow
  • Product design experience (however this is not a product design role)
  • Experience in web experimentation and testing
