About The Role:

The Trust & Safety team at Notion is looking for our first full-time Risk Management Specialist to join our operational account security team. As a Risk Management Specialist, you’ll work closely with our engineers & business teams and review account behavior for unexpected activity. You’ll communicate directly with our users to resolve risk-related issues, while building out systems and processes to manage escalations from report to completion. You will problem-solve with our technical & business teams and resolve as much as you can while building processes that will scale as we do.This role is open in both our New York and San Francisco offices, with a preference for NYC.

What You'll Achieve:

• Own our user-facing risk monitoring processes, perform risk reviews, and manage account activity escalations
• Working with Security and Engineering teams to build better account monitoring tools
• Investigate, draft, and implement risk management policy & processes with Legal and Security
• Work closely with customers to solve the most challenging support interactions
• Respond to high priority customer issues related to account access & risk management
• Manage to key performance metrics defined within Global Support
• Create and maintain internal knowledge libraries and contribute to the creation of user-facing content
• Provide materials and training to our BPO partners and maintain outsourcing resources through regular audits & updates
• Participate in a semi-quarterly on-call rotation to provide support during high-priority incidents

Skills You'll Need to Bring:

• You have at least 2 years of experience supporting users of a software application
• You are a clear communicator with strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills, and can work with both technical and non-technical audiences
• You are familiar with risk assessment techniques, you are comfortable doing independent research to gain deeper knowledge, and you can triage risk and security questions effectively
• You are able to balance user expectations while adhering to security policies and compliance boundaries, and are comfortable finding creative or out-of-the-box solutions when faced with ambiguity
• You are able to collaborate effectively with peers and across teams that are located in multiple offices

Nice to Haves:

• You have direct experience in a risk-related role and are well-versed in account review and risk management tools
• You have experience managing risk-related complaints
• You are familiar with SQL or other query-based languages and can write your own queries
