What you’ll do:

  • Update and manage a repeatable and efficient month end close process using a continuous improvement mindset including ownership of the monthly close calendar
  • Partner with the financial planning and analysis team to meet the combined goals of the two groups in terms of timing of close and the quality of financial data
  • Ensure our global general ledger adheres to GAAP standards including those related to foreign currency transactions, currency translations and revaluations
  • Create and document processes for accounts receivable, credit card transactions, and accounts payable/employee expense reimbursement transaction processing and identify risks and controls to mitigate those risks
  • Oversee the processing and settlement of monthly payments to our coaches and the related accounting entries and reconciliation of ledger transactions
  • Provide guidance and training to your staff to allow for their development while meeting the increasing needs of those we serve (employees, customers, and suppliers)
  • Review journal entries and other transactions to ensure their appropriateness regarding BetterUp policies and good business practices
  • Review month-end general ledger account reconciliations to ensure they properly reflect the state of each account
  • Work closely with the leader of financial systems to identify and implement automation to reduce manual processing and improve internal controls

If you have some or all of the following, please apply:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Accounting or Finance
  • 8+ years, including 3+ years in a management position, within a high growth corporate accounting department
  • Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills are required for frequent interaction with financial and non-financial management and auditors
  • Ability to work at a detailed level and to interact effectively with all levels within the organization
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to manipulate and digest large amounts of data required
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team setting
  • A highly productive self-starter with very strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
  • Strong accountability and detail oriented; prepares accurate and timely work products
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and messaging skills
  • Quick learner and ability to drive successful results with limited supervision
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Experience with Workday financials a plus
  • CPA and/or public company experience a plus
