About the Role

Ramp is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will report to the Controller and  work closely with other members of the finance team to prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and financial statements. You will primarily manage the cash disbursement process, ensuring that all vendors are paid timely and appropriately. You will also play a significant role in the monthly close, the annual audit and help the finance, leadership and leadership teams understand financial results. The best candidate has a strong attention to details, can follow directions in a fast-paced environment by maintaining high quality and accuracy.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage accounts payable and ensure proper controls in the cash disbursement process
  • Play a key role in the monthly and annual close processes 
  • Record and reconcile cash transactions 
  • Assist in the annual audit process with external auditors and tax compliance process
  • Assist in the creation of accounting policies, improved processes and financial controls
  • Collaborate with FP&A for monitoring of budget and preparation of budget to actuals.
  • Support payroll functions when needed
  • Ad-hoc finance and accounting related requests
  • Work closely with Controller to ensure policies and procedures comply with professional standards, and audit and regulatory requirements

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years of experience in Accounting
  • Fluency in Excel and its mid level functions – pivots, VLOOKUP’s, index match
  • Prior experience working with Quickbooks 
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions
  • Extreme attention to detail and high regard for precision

Nice to Haves:

  • Big 4 experience 
  • Experience in high growth startups and/or high growth technology companies
  • Exposure to fintech, capital markets and securitization accounting
  • Experience with Netsuite
