The Airbnb.org Sr. Business Analyst will support the team in delivering high-quality strategic and tactical analysis and reports to help make decisions across multiple functions. A focused, hard-working and meticulous analyst, you have functional expertise in data analysis as well as in-depth and expert industry insight and knowledge providing the key insights and findings to improve how we serve our mission. You will work across the Airbnb.org team and its Leadership team to perform a variety of analyses to support decisions across strategy, product, and operations. 

Example 2022 Projects:

  • Develop new multi-year planning models, performance measurement and projections
  • Partner w/ leadership to track performance against 2022 goals and scorecard. Synthesize and include in Monthly Airbnb.org board updates and Airbnb E-team doc
  • Analysis projects (illustrative examples)
    • Research historical supply/demand for global disaster activations and make recommendations on if/where we are supply constrained vs. demand constrained
    • Create TAM/SAM estimates for our emergency housing use cases (disaster response, refugee and asylum seeker housing, etc.)
    • Develop financial models to drive funding decisions for major responses
    • Perform funnel analyses to aid supporter journey mapping
    • Analyze product analytics to find where drop-off is happening in the Airbnb.org booking flow

Role & Responsibilities

  • Analyzes complex business problems using data from internal and external sources
  • Provides actionable insight to decision-makers to influence strategy and performance
  • Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to attribute key business drivers
  • Analyzes and defines metrics that tie back to business performance and initiatives
  • Creates specifications and generates reports and analysis mapping to business needs
  • May provide consultation and lead cross-functional teams to address business issues
  • Directly produces datasets and reports for analysis using databases and reporting tools

Requirements

  • Master’s or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study
  • 5+ years of business analysis or consulting experience 
  • Experience with social impact tech or analytics in a humanitarian context a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, macros, charts, functions, vba modeling
  • Experience with Tableau or similar BI platform to develop reports and dashboards
  • Ability to tailor insights to present clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Hands-on to get things done fast and ability to work without continual guidance
  • Experience with informing and/or running strategic planning processes a plus
  • Inquiring mind with ability to recognize inefficiencies and opportunities, and to challenge the status quo
  • Attention to detail combined with creative thinking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence senior leaders a plus
  • Superior reporting and editing skills

The starting base pay for this role is between $132,000 and $164,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, experience, and skills. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
