What You’ll Do in This Role to Add Value

SparkPost is seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Product Marketing to mature our view of the market and our target buyers, develop resonant positioning and messaging, and drive go-to-market strategies and activities that fuel commercial growth. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this role is a vital part of the Marketing leadership team that will help drive the next phase of growth for SparkPost.

Responsibilities

  • Market intelligence: Be the expert on our buyers, who they are, how they buy and their key buying criteria. Be an expert on our competition, their product portfolios and positioning. Work with other leaders to develop clear strategies for market differentiation.
  • Messaging & positioning: Develop product positioning and messaging that resonates with our target markets and differentiates us from the competition. This includes brand-level and solution-level positioning.
  • Pricing & Packaging: Lead strategic and tactical pricing & packaging programs to increase profitable growth, including competitive benchmarking and research, customer research to test hypotheses and price elasticity, revenue impact modeling, price sheet maintenance, and more.
  • Go-to-market / launch: Leverage your deep understanding of the market to partner with other leadership on identifying growth opportunities. Lead go-to-market and launch planning and activities to maximize the impact of product releases.
  • Product content: In partnership with Sales Enablement, standardize and build a reservoir of comprehensive, high value content that articulates our value, brings consistency to our client engagement and sharpens our selling effectiveness.
  • Player-coach: Mentor a team of Product Marketers, elevate the Product Marketing function within the organization, but be comfortable getting your hands dirty to drive projects forward with a high level of quality and speed.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 7+ years of Product Marketing experience in a B2B SaaS environment
  • Expert messaging and storytelling skills, with the ability to connect the dots between target markets, buyers, their needs, product value, and SparkPost positioning
  • Ability to blend the art and science of Product Marketing, adept at using data and running market tests to drive decision making
  • Agile mindset, able to deliver value in increments and helping create a culture of continuous improvement
  • Proven cross-functional teammate who can work through ambiguous challenges and collaborate to build alignment and agreement
  • Highly organized with proven ability to manage multiple work-streams at once in a fast paced environment
  • MarTech experience strongly preferred but not required
