About the team

The Invoca design team includes User Experience Designers and Researchers and sits within the Product Management umbrella. We’re open-minded, low-ego, and hard working. We’ve built a reputation for being force-multipliers by introducing new methods and ways of thinking to our teammates. Our team influences big decisions through continuous exploration, approachable storytelling, and data-driven insight.

About the role

As part of our growing design group, you will focus on leading our emerging User Research function. As a manager, you’ll balance guiding your direct reports’ work with your own hands on work. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with a wide array of stakeholders across the business as we all work together to ensure the success of our customers and their businesses. You’ll join forces with a community of designers, building on our design practice foundation to include more expertise in research.

User Experience Research Manager Responsibilities:

  • Define Invoca’s research team vision and strategy
  • Hire, develop, and retain a research team
  • Create a sense of belonging and community for your team
  • Guide research throughout the product life-cycle from early stage generative research, through iterative concept or prototype testing, and post-launch measurement
  • Build and influence meaningful cross-functional relationships
  • Deliver actionable and relevant insights aligned to both strategic and tactical product and designs decisions
  • Identify and prioritize short-term and long-term research that delivers impact
  • Allocate staffing to ensure we are always focusing on the highest priority things, focusing both on the short term needs as well as looking ahead to the next big challenge
  • Advocate passionately for the customer, ensuring that the product experience is aligned to user needs and expectations
  • Be a role model for inclusive behaviors and build a diverse organization that values, respects and taps into different backgrounds and perspectives

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with enterprise products
  • About 7 years of experience with user research, or experience with at an equivalent level of responsibility as required for this position at Invoca
  • Experience with both quantitative and qualitative research
  • 2 or more years of experience leading or directly managing, coaching and developing full-time researchers - direct management experience not required, but helpful
  • Experience in all areas of research (including design research, market research and quantitative research) with a significant depth in one or more
  • Track record of translating research into design and product
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing teams, with researchers of different disciplines and different levels of seniority
  • Effective communication and storytelling skills with experience presenting to diverse audiences
  • Comfort in engaging with senior executives and sales teams
  • An approachable and effective influencing style
  • Self-starter and strong finisher with a positive, can-do attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading research for enterprise applications
  • Understanding or experience working on adtech or martech industry
  • Experience documenting complex processes and workflows
  • Experience managing senior researchers

  • Position Base Range - $121,000.00 - $162,800.00 / plus bonus potential
