We're looking for our first business systems engineer who will ultimately help us drive the business forward by supporting our GTM team.

What you can do for Expel

  • Mentor and educate others on the work you do, that way we grow together
  • Lay the groundwork for Salesforce Development (CI/CD, SDLC, Testing Frameworks)
  • Design, develop and implement systems and integrations with 3rd party applications
  • Anticipate and respond to needs before problems arise
  • Ensure comprehensive, up-to-date, and accurate documentation of data architecture, data flows, and integration of systems

What you should bring with you

  • Experience working with business systems like Salesforce, ERPs (Sage Intacct (Preferred), Netsuite,etc) , GLs, and associated technical plumbing, ideally in cloud SaaS environments
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and application project management
  • Experience with the design and architecture of data flows through third party cloud SaaS applications
  • Experience delivering large cross-organizational projects like technology migrations, new product launches, deployment of business applications that have substantial business impact
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Extraordinarily strong customer service mentality and ability to optimize for the user experience.
  • Strong adaptive communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical, non-technical, support, and business staff at all levels.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or a commensurate set of life experiences

Additional notes

The base salary range for this role is between $132,500 USD and $190,800 USD + bonus eligibility and equity.

We believe in paying transparently and equitably. Your salary will ultimately be based on factors such as your experience, skills, team equity, and market data. You’ll also be eligible for unlimited PTO (which we model and encourage), work location flexibility, up to 24 weeks of parental leave, and really excellent health benefits.

Our headquarters is in Herndon, Virginia, however our team is fully remote, and we have full support for remote interaction. We realize that while there is benefit to in-person interaction, good people don’t all live in Northern Virginia.
