The role

MessageBird is looking for an Overlay Sales Director / Manager that is responsible for the direct sales of our Connectivity Solutions, with a specific focus on SMS communications to new and existing customers. 

The employee will work directly with local territory Sales teams to prospect for new business, qualify new sales opportunities, develop account strategy, overcome technical and business objections, close deals and forecast revenue and margin. Your hunting ground will be APAC and you will report to the Head of Overlay Sales.

What You’ll Do

  • Source new prospects and close new Customers
  • Drive specific Connectivity product revenue in the territory
  • Track, monitor and report performance for each partnership
  • Perform outbound contact to existing customers to sell additional specific Connectivity services.
  • Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of the complete capabilities of our service portfolio.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of forecasted opportunities to meet monthly, quarterly and annual quota objectives.
  • Work with various teams within MessageBird (Product, Connectivity, Enterprise Sales, Pricing Office and Engineering) to provide customer feedback and drive revenue opportunities in the region.
  • Utilise industry and strategic knowledge to execute large, complex, strategic, business changing deals

What You’ll Bring

  • 7+ years of experience in direct selling to fortune 500 companies.
  • Proven track record selling complex connectivity (SMS) solutions to Enterprises.
  • Strategically create territory plan to exceed goals
  • Ability to create 3x pipeline to quota to exceed goals
  • Experience with creating pricing proposals, negotiating terms and managing the contract process. Fearless and a ruthless focus on execution.
  • Deep knowledge of, and an extensive network in the China Connectivity landscape.
  • Experience selling communications to a technical and business audience, building trust and mutual respect with technical customers and peers.
  • Experience within CPaaS offerings is a must (email, sms, voice, OTT and more)
