About the Role

The Global Infrastructure (GI) Team at Twitch is looking for a Server Capacity Manager who will be responsible for effective collaboration across the various business and engineering teams that make up the Twitch Video Platform to manage demand forecasts, propose, fund and track capacity expansion projects to ensure the server capacity needs to meet the ever changing demands for Twitch products and customers. We are looking for you to have experience at scale, lead and develop a demand forecasting, demand modeling, capacity planning and roadmap implementation process across business and engineering teams. This requirement includes the ability to consider all resources to deliver this capacity while planning for short and long term requirements. You will report to the Director of Infrastructure Services.

You can work from Salt Lake City, UT; Seattle, WA; or Denver, CO. 

You Will:

  • Drive cross-functional initiatives to improve network infrastructure capacity management and planning
  • Monitor and report on server capacity and utilization
  • Define, document and publish capacity SLAs, OLAs and KPIs for Server infrastructure capacity planning
  • Model server usage across the platform and global network
  • Engage with engineering and operations teams on capacity usage and demand forecasts
  • Engage with engineering teams on projects to drive efficiency in utilization
  • Manage consolidated demand forecasts and capacity planning roadmap
  • Document and propose capacity expansions and maintain the roadmap of approved server capacity projects
  • Contribute to and manage Capex and Opex estimates for capacity investment proposals
  • Engage with partner teams across AWS to align practices and processes to allow Twitch to take advantage of the scale and economies of scale presented by being part of the world's leading IaaS organization.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree or related work experience; Master's degree preferred
  • 3+ years of related professional experience in Server capacity management or server engineering
  • Prioritization, planning, and task delegation on multiple projects
  • Experience working with, guide and influence network engineering and operations teams
  • Creative thinking skills with an emphasis on developing new solutions to solve complex problems that may not have one clear answer

  • RHCSA, MCSE or similar server admin background
  • Statistics degree/business intelligence background
  • Lean/Six Sigma process analysis and definition
  • Strong data analytics skills

The base pay range for this position in Colorado and Washington is $127,100 - $172,000 yr. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
