What Chainalysis is looking for in applicants

Vibrant storytellers and Chainalysis evangelists, our Marketing team leverages cutting-edge research, real customer success stories and the infinite possibilities in-between to drive expansion around the world. We need a creative and data-focused research lead to help us educate the world on how cryptocurrency usage differs by region. We regularly put out the statistic that 1% of all cryptocurrency activity is illicit, but what about the other 99%? We know the answer to this involves region and country specific analysis and insight.

The Economist has in-depth experience conducting research projects. They feel most at home when they’re hands-on exploring data related to trends in regional economic activity and translating findings into information that excites and engages their audience. Success is working collaboratively with our sales and marketing team to produce compelling research that attracts new audiences to Chainalysis, engages prospects and educates our customers.

In one year you’ll know you were successful if…

  • You have worked with teams across the company including research, sales, product management, communications, and investigations to research new topics, plan and deliver webinars, and provide account-specific research.
  • You’ve conducted economic forecasting and analysis of trends in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space.
  • You will assist with the annual Geography of Cryptocurrency Report and provide country specific research on an ad hoc basis to sales, research, customers and prospects.
  • You will attend conferences around the world and customer events to present research.
  • You own the creation of customer-facing material based upon original research.
  • You have become an expert in the cryptocurrency market, with a particular focus on what drives cryptocurrency activity in different regional markets.

A background like this helps:

  • You have experience with data analysis, specifically as it relates to researching global markets. Experience in macroeconomic and microeconomic analysis preferred. Cryptocurrency research is preferred.
  • You have proven interest in analyzing geographic trends either in one-specific country, one-specific region, or international dynamics between regions and countries.
  • You have led a research project, including scoping the problem statement and detailing the data needed to answer the question.
  • Your top-notch project management skills have been showcased through the development of detailed project plans which monitor and track progress.
  • You are passionate about data visualization and have experience creating interesting data visualizations based on complex datasets with preferred experience in SQL, Python, R, Stata, Tableau, and/or Amazon QuickSight.
  • Highly organized but willing to adjust direction when necessary.
  • High sense of urgency and goal orientation (you thrive in fast paced environment).
  • Exceptional communication skills including the ability to take an independent stance when interfacing with cross functional stakeholders, while maintaining their respect and confidence.
  • Act as a spokesperson for research coming out on the blog and other forums
