Airbnb is looking for a Consumer Insights Operations Manager to join the Consumer Insights and Trends function globally. This person will join a newly minted team that looks to provoke and inspire the organization with strategic and actionable insights
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Researchers, PMs, Legal and Finance team to ensure successful operations of the team
- Research Participant Management
- Recruit, schedule and coordinate
- Research participant agreements
- Set up and manage the research outreach tools and tech solutions for Participant Management
- Training researchers on participant management tools
- Database integration (eg. merging database and survey data, using database variables to target participants)
- Interfacing with Legal, Finance/Buy@, IT
- New vendor vetting & onboarding (Finance/PO, Legal review, Security review); Guide requisition & SOW processes for new projects
- Vendor contracts
- Contracts with companies offering online research tools
- Contracts/subscriptions with 3rd-party market research vendors
- Legal review process for surveys and research guides
- Lab/Tech Management
- Facility management (of on-site research labs @ Airbnb offices)
- Research lab video/media capture and storage/archiving (e.g., LivingLens)
- Managing transcription services
- Technology & tools for field research (cameras, videocams, mics, batteries/power supply, media storage, bags/kits, etc)
- Tech support
- Research Logistics / Best Practices
- Building & managing the research "Airchive" repository
- Coordinating cross-team training on best practices for a wide range of research tools/methods
- Implementing best practices in treatment of internally sourced research participants (eg. recruitment, data privacy, incentives)
- Develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with team members, internal colleagues and stakeholders, and current and prospective research suppliers.
- Avoid silos and seek out ways to add value by synthesizing and collaborating across the teams
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant research management
- Significant understanding of the research/insights discipline, roles, principles and practices
- Organized, seasoned and strategic multitasker, with a hands-on approach to solving problems and accomplishing tasks in short turnarounds as needed
- Knowledge and experience in Legal, IT and Finance research ops functions
- Able to surface, flag and problem-solve potential issues before they arise
- Detail oriented without sacrificing a broad strategic perspective
- Flexible in response to changing needs and priorities
- Knowledgeable about the latest developments and research innovation (both methodological and analytical)
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive and cooperative attitude that fosters collaboration and teamwork both inside and outside the department
- Ability to read and respond to cultural cues to make the greater enterprise more effective
- Ability to make thoughtful decisions in real time to provide support and solve problems as they arise
- Comfortable in navigating and excelling in challenging environments with no playbook for success, and able to simplify
The starting base pay for this role is between $150,000 and $190,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, experience, and skills. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
