We are searching for a Sales Proposal (RFP) Lead to manage high priority proposal efforts for new and existing client opportunities. This is a critical role for BetterUp in our stage of high growth, helping to drive clear and compelling value propositions, brand alignment, and high quality standards in every proposal we deliver. The Sales Proposal Lead will report into the Sales Enablement team. In this role, you’ll be directly impacting revenue by leading the proposal efforts for our highest priority deals, including RFX (RFQ, RFI and RFP) submissions and developing customized proposals and other customer-facing deliverables. You will also be a founding member of a team that has room to grow as the business grows. This role requires a unique combination of both strategic and execution skills. We’re looking for excellent writers, creative thinkers, and collaborative problem solvers who are ready to get extremely hands-on in a fast-paced startup environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the field teams on active or impending RFX and proposals (RFI, RFQ, RFP) across the commercial 
  • Manage an efficient and scalable RFX process
  • Manage the organization’s end-to-end proposal process from pre-proposal planning through proposal delivery and support of post-submittal deliverables
  • Follow documented processes and best practices throughout proposal development including: preparing a schedule with responsibilities assigned; creating first draft and routing for review; delivering in accordance with requirements; archiving and updating the database; and holding debriefs as required
  • Lead proposal process including conducting calls and writing executive summaries
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and process, and good follow-up skills
  • Ability to produce creative and impactful proposals 

If you have some or all of the following, please apply:

  • 4-6 years of experience performing similar functions in a professional organization, SaaS experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience working in online procurement sites (Ariba, Coupa, Scout)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft, Google, and Adobe (Microsoft - Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Google - Sheets, Docs, Slides; Adobe - PDF)
  • Experience with Federal Government or knowledge of Federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and/or Defense Federal acquisition regulations (FAR) a plus
  • Background in working with a sales teams
  • Ability to build relationships cross-functionally
  • Experience conceiving and delivering high-impact proposal graphics helpful
  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Marketing, Communications, or similar-related subject, or equivalent combination of education and experience
