Head of Finance We're expanding globally and we're looking for a Director of Finance to be based in the Unites States. This role is our first internal finance position at Temporal and this position reports directly to our CEO. In this role you will be responsible for laying the foundations of a successful finance and accounting function at Temporal, a high growth startup. You will recruit and hire a highly capable team that will be responsible for all aspects of accounting and finance. Your team will be responsible for all finance operations, tool selection and roll-out, policy creation, reporting, payroll, cash management and AR/AP across multiple geographic locations. This role combines strategic and tactical initiatives. What you'll do *Control and operate all aspects of finance and accounting. *Be accountable to the CEO and Board of Directors directly. *Hire a team of individuals and build a world class finance and accounting function. *Identify, implement, and improve policy, processes, systems and tools to streamline and drive efficiency as Temporal scales. *Build and maintain financial models to support projected growth and related analyses. *Develop and roll out a modern financial infrastructure that will scale with Temporal. *Participate in planning activities. *Oversee federal, state and international tax preparation, reporting, and compliance. *Own all financial challenges for Temporal as we scale globally. What you bring to us *Bachelors in Accounting or Finance, Masters preferred. *Experience working at a high growth venture backed SaaS startup. *10+ years hands-on experience within corporate accounting. *7+ years of people management experience and strong track record of building highly performing teams. *Strong organizational skills and a high degree of attention to detail. *Familiarity with building and communicating policy which help accelerate the business. *Ability to act in a consultative manner with all stakeholders. *Advanced experience with Excel (pivots, lookups & macro), G Suite, and SaaS products. *Ability to work independently within a team environment, manage deadlines, and balance competing priorities. *Strong written and verbal communication skills. *Experience in a primarily remote/distributed company. #L1-KA1
