Twitch is the world’s biggest live streaming service, with global communities built around gaming, entertainment, music, sports, cooking, and more. It’s where millions of people come together to chat, interact, and make their own entertainment.
We’re about community, inside and out. You’ll find coworkers who are eager to team up, collaborate, and smash (or elegantly solve) problems together. We’re on a quest to empower live communities, so if this sounds good to you, see what we’re up to on LinkedIn and Twitter, get interviewing tips on Instagram, and discover projects we’re solving on our Blog.
The Network Engineering team builds and operates a large global backbone network connecting over 70 points of presence (PoPs) and back-end data centers. You will work closely with other networking and software teams throughout the Video Platform organization to ensure Twitch service quality remains as high as possible. You will own network architecture and design to support broadcaster and video replication traffic on the backbone and be responsible for the delivery of video traffic to end users.
As video traffic and service usage grows, the network and server infrastructure must scale to support that growth. You will play a big role in that scaling, and the implementation of network and video system features to support a high-traffic multi-tenant environment. If the idea of operating and automating a large-scale network with a high volume of traffic interests you, this could be the role for you! You will report to the Manager, Network Engineering.
