About the Role

Twitch Studio is an exciting product that has the potential to improve the lives of our creators by making their streaming experience first in class. The team is expanding to keep up with the demands of our broadcasters, and we're looking for a Software Engineer III - macOS with a background in creating desktop experiences for macOS.

As a Software Engineer III - macOS, you will develop the products that our broadcasters use every day to stream. Our job is to ensure that every broadcaster on Twitch has a great experience. You will create exciting products both for Twitch Studio.

You can work in Irvine, CA; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA.

You Will:

  • Build high quality Twitch products and broadcaster experiences for our Mac users
  • Improve architectural, design, and process discussions involving the technological choices involved in building Twitch's desktop clients
  • Identify and uphold Mac engineering best practices
  • Work backwards from the customer needs to create working designs
  • Work in a supportive team environment with shared code, code reviews, and disciplined quality control
  • Help direct roadmap with your team 

You Have:

  • A degree in Computer Science, a related Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years professional experience working on macOS client applications with Objective-C
  • Expertise and domain knowledge working with macOS native APIs
  • Experience shipping user-facing products for desktop platforms
  • Experience collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineering leaders

Bonus Points

  • Architectural experience creating scalable desktop or web applications
  • An understanding of best practices and techniques regarding scalability, performance, and security
  • Experience with Chromium-embedded frameworks such as Electron
  • Experience with macOS streaming audio desktop applications
  • Experience working on low level functionality on macOS in C++ such as drivers or custom audio

The base pay range for this position in Colorado, Connecticut and Washington is $178,020 - $217,580 yr. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
