About the Role

We are looking for an engineering manager who embodies customer obsession and technical leadership to lead and grow a team of engineers responsible for running the infrastructure and automation behind some of our key internal services at Twitch. Reporting to our Director of Corporate Engineering, you'll run a motivated team automating our corporate infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tooling, providing architectural guidance on key initiatives as well as coaching and developing your team.

This position is remote-friendly with a preference for the Pacific timezone, as the team is located predominantly in San Francisco, CA.

You Will:

  • Maintain a positive team culture that promotes learning and collaboration
  • Progress the careers of engineers across all levels, from senior engineers to interns/apprentices
  • Provide high-level technical direction to the team to sustain engineering and operational excellence
  • Review and contribute to architecture innovation, strategic planning, and experimental research
  • Collaborate with our partner teams from across the company on numerous discrete simultaneous projects

You Have:

  • 4+ years of work experience as building and configuring infrastructure in AWS or another major cloud platform using infrastructure-as-code tooling (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
  • 2+ years as an engineering manager, including hiring and developing engineering talent
  • Experience working in a remote-friendly team
  • User empathy and an ability to understand and prioritize user needs
  • A passion for delivering high-quality work, and experience successfully balancing resiliency and agility in an infrastructure environment

Bonus Points

  • Experience running Agile teams as a scrum master
  • Automation experience using configuration management tools such as Ansible or Chef

The base pay range for this position in Colorado, Connecticut and Washington is $176,310 - $215,270 yr and in New York City is $193,680 - $236,720 yr. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
