Engineering at Brex

The Engineering team includes Data, IT, Security, and Software, and is responsible for building innovative products and infrastructure for Brex and our customers. We believe that engineers should accelerate the business through technology, and collaborate across multiple teams to accomplish that.

What you’ll do

As a Technical Project Manager focusing on Tech Education at Brex, you will work to ensure that every engineer at Brex is set up for success from their onboarding experience, and continuing through their growth.

 

As the first TPM working on internal education at Brex, you’ll be working with engineering teams across the board, to not only improve our existing learning and development curriculum but also ensure we’re improving on areas as our own technical expectations evolve over time. You’ll be in charge of understanding what technical domains are most important for our engineers to learn, working with internal domain experts to prepare a comprehensive program covering everybody from new hires to the most tenured employees, from junior engineers to those much further along in their careers.

 

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute data-driven education plans across the organization
  • Partner closely with all engineering teams to develop program-specific content and conduct training sessions both within and outside the engineering org.
  • Identify gaps in our programs as we scale, and restructure programs to create a seamless experience over time
  • Regularly communicate with leadership and the broader organization
  • Ensure compliance to required training as needed

 

Requirements

  • Proven technical program/project delivery. You have managed large delivery of complex and visible technology initiatives in a growing company
  • 2+ years of experience as a project manager partnering closely with technical teams to develop large-scale onboarding and education programs.
  • Passionate about tech education. You should be familiar with best practices and industry-standard programs.
  • Understanding of how to design curricula in a manner that facilitates absorption and retention of content
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record in developing, executing, and scaling programs across an organization
  • Data-driven. You must have a demonstrated ability to surface data and insights to prove hypotheses and measure success

 

Nice to have

  • Understanding of instructional design theories
  • Software engineering background
