About the Role

Reporting to the CTO, Twitch is looking for a seasoned and innovative technology leader to join our Platforms & Services organization. In this role, you will lead our Core Engineering teams and provide the overall technical vision for the foundational systems that define our service. Your customers are every other product and engineering team that deliver the great experience our creators and viewers enjoy every day.

An ideal candidate will have led multiple and diverse product engineering organizations who are customer obsessed. This leader should have strong familiarity with apps, games, mobile, video, or streaming services. They are comfortable managing large engineering teams in a fast paced and fluid business environment. Perhaps most importantly, this leader has a passion for technology and delighting customers around the globe with new and innovative products and services.

This role can be located remotely across the US.

You Will:

  • Provide essential leadership as Twitch grows from the leading entertainment platform for gamers to be the platform of choice for expanded audiences in various new content areas.
  • Lead an organization that owns the development of our service foundation, setting compelling direction, making smart innovation, leading the core teams to build meaningful roadmaps that deliver results for our customers.
  • Proactively partner with all other product and engineering teams to accelerate Twitch's fly wheel by continuously creating value for creators and viewers.
  • Continuously focus on building and developing engineering leadership talents that have the business acumen and technical capability to deliver results.
  • Lead through principles consistent with Twitch values and leadership success profile. This includes the ability to influence strategy, drive results, spark innovation and inspire the organization to achieve and exceed its goals.

You Have:

  • 10+ years experience building and managing large engineering teams in engineering oriented companies.
  • 10+ years demonstration of strong technical and engineering skills including hands-on experience as an engineer.
  • Success in delivering always-connected consumer platforms.
  • Experience working on consumer-facing products with a skew towards gaming.
  • Accomplished range of skills ranging from detailed analysis to high-level strategy.
  • Personal passion for (and early adopter of) emerging consumer technologies - committed to learning and expanding professional and technical knowledge.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and be resourceful in achieving success in the face of ambiguity while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, schedule trade- offs and opportunistic new ideas with technical employees.
  • A technical/engineering undergraduate degree or equivalent experience; MS in Computer Science is desired but not required.

The pay range for this position in Colorado and Connecticut is $279,540 - $341,660 yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act and CT House Bill Number 6380. Base pay information is based on market location.
