Are you looking to build your career in sales at a company with a product customers rave about? How does working on a newly defined Commercial sales team sound?  In this role, you’ll be responsible for partnering with Account Executives (AEs) in building a qualified pipeline of potential customers within our Commercial segment (Companies with < 2500 employees).  SDRs do this by setting a great first impression with prospective customers (via phone, email, and LinkedIn) while helping them learn more about Expel’s services that best suit their needs.

What you can do for Expel

  • Achieve and exceed your monthly and quarterly metrics for booking qualified meetings that convert to viable sales opportunities.  
  • Qualify (and disqualify) warm, inbound leads from Marketing. 
  • Partner with your AE’s on opportunistic outbound motions.
  • Meet and exceed daily activity expectations (phone/email/LinkedIn).
  • Develop and maintain your knowledge of Expel’s market, value proposition, and related security technologies and integrations.


What you should bring with you

  • You have strong communication skills (written and verbal) and are able to tailor outreach to your audience.
  • You are comfortable in a fast-paced, high energy environment.
  • You are highly organized and able to prioritize your work. 
  • You are goal-oriented, self-motivated, and have a track record of achieving your goals. 
  • You are resilient, adaptable to change, and bring an entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to grow in your career.
  • 0–12 months of Sales, SDR/BDR, Customer Support/Success, or relevant work experience.
  • Experience with the following Sales Tools is preferred:
    • Salesforce CRM, Outreach/SalesLoft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, 6Sense, Sendoso, Gong
  • Bachelor's Degree or a compelling story


Additional notes

The targeted compensation for this role is: $85,000 USD OTE + equity.

We believe in paying transparently and equitably. Your salary will ultimately be based on factors such as your experience, skills, team equity, and market data. You’ll also be eligible for unlimited PTO (which we model and encourage), work location flexibility, up to 24 weeks of parental leave, and really excellent health benefits.

This role will be based out of our offices in Herndon, Virginia.
