About the Role

The Community Foundations team builds systems that connect 100M+ viewers to millions of live streamers in real-time every day. As engineering manager of the Community Insights team within Community Foundations, you will build products that help streamers achieve their goals by building powerful tools for them to understand the performance of their streams and businesses. We are looking for a passionate engineering manager to expand the team's capabilities and hone solutions built with open-source and Amazon Web Services (AWS) tools.

You will lead an eager team of engineers to transform millions of events each minute into digestible, relevant insights that close the loop for streamers in understanding how their behavior impacts their success. You will coach your team, supporting them to pursue their career goals. If you have a passion for simplifying data and developing both technical systems and the teams which build them, this is the job for you!

We have offices in San Francisco, Seattle, WA and New York, NY. Remote flexible.

You Will:

  • Manage a software engineering team that creates products that provide important insights to our streamers as they build their streaming careers
  • Accelerate career development and foster engineering talent
  • Build systems to stay ahead of growing demand for insights and product features
  • Set goals and strategies for developing, launching, and operating services that power analytics features on our web and mobile clients
  • Work with product managers and other partners to plan, schedule, and create projects
  • Empathize with Twitch users and manage collaboration with other teams at Twitch to ship features which address their needs

You Have:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of professional software development, at least 2 years managing a team
  • Passion for operational excellence and process improvement
  • Programming skill

Bonus Points

  • Expertise in troubleshooting distributed microservices
  • Experience with data processing tools, workflows, and data stores such as Apache Druid, Apache Flink, Apache Airflow, Kafka/Kinesis
  • Experience building and scaling services using AWS and Infrastructure as Code
  • You are a Twitch user yourself

The pay range for this position in Colorado and Connecticut is $ 163,200 - $240,000 yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act and CT House Bill Number 6380. Base pay information is based on market location.
