DevOps here at Conviva means between 30% to 70% Dev / Ops mixed role. Focus on backend software engineering, data processing, application architecture, APIs, and internal tools. On the Ops side, we focus on Linux configuration management, cloud automation, infrastructure as code, virtualization and containers, network engineering, security, database architecture, continuous integration, network filesystems, and web scale production infrastructure.  

We use agile sprint models to support several dev teams that build web services and front-end components. We actively iterate our processes with input from the team. We also run our own projects related to infrastructure, automation, monitoring, continuous integration and internal tools. Our job is to increase dev velocity and ensure stable and secure production systems.  
 
What you get to do  

• Work with development teams to build and maintain cloud environments to specifications developed closely with multiple teams
• Support (and automate) the deployment of applications into those environments
• Design new environments and architectures
• Build proactive monitoring and alerting tools. Provide standards, documentation, and coaching to developers. Participate in on-call rotations

What you bring to the role 

• 3+ years / 5+ years (Senior Role) of experience in DevOps including automated system configuration, application deployment, and infrastructure-as-code
• Advanced Linux system administration abilities
• Real-world experience managing and deploying to large-scale, hybrid, environments on-prem and in the cloud
• Experience with managing production environments on GCP, AWS, or another cloud PaaS
• Solid hands-on skills with most of the following technologies: Kubernetes, Rancher, Terraform, Helm charts, and Kafka
• Experience in Kafka capacity planning, scaling, installation, and administration
• Experience in Kafka partitions, latency, and throughput performance optimization
• Maintain and improve high resilience Kafka cluster with failover and active-active deployment
• Working knowledge with Strimzi and confluent Kafka is a big plus
• Python, Bash, Git, Prometheus, InfluxDB/Grafana, Ansible, airflow is a plus
• Experience working as a developer on front-end or back-end projects
