What Conviva is looking for in applicants

Have you streamed a program on Disney+, caught the latest binge-worthy series on Hulu, or tuned in for NFL highlights on social media? If the answer is yes, you have already benefitted from Conviva’s technology.

At Conviva, we create the technologies and standards driving industry transformation and streaming media growth worldwide. It’s not about the data, it’s about what you do with it. As the leader in global streaming media intelligence, Conviva measures in excess of 500 million unique viewers watching 150 billion streams per year with 1.5 trillion real-time transactions per day across more than 180 countries. Our platform and products are designed to deliver the real-time, cross-screen, integrated insights our customers need to understand their business and focus on what matters. Join us as we make streaming better.

Like how streaming is taking over TV, many other industries are going through a transformation where products and services are delivered over the Internet, business is transacted over the Internet, and the app is the product. Conviva is expanding its technology and building a product to provide real-time measurement and analytics for a broad range of industries going through this transformation.

Our UX design team is growing, and we are looking for a Staff Product Designer who can contribute to our team culture and take ownership of one of the many problem spaces in our fold, e.g., humanizing data for a changing world. This role will collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering to define and design the product experience for the initial version and engage with our customers to validate and bring the product to market.

What You Get to Do:

  • Drive key interaction design initiatives by engaging and collaborating with business stakeholders (product management, engineering and business) to translate business, end user and technical requirements into UI prototypes.
  • Produce superlative interaction designs—from concept to execution in an agile product development environment.
  • Facilitate design brainstorming sessions and build consensus around design vision with product development stakeholders.
  • Conduct user research, coordinate usability-testing efforts, interpret test results, effectively communicate findings, and incorporate results into design efforts.
  • Closely collaborate with product management and engineering as a member of the development team.
  • Ensure consistency of interactions, visual language, and interface components across the product.

What You Bring to the Role:

  • 7+ years design work on consumer-friendly interactive experiences – desktop, web and mobile.
  • Deep understanding of fundamental interaction design disciplines (information architecture, user personas, storyboarding, wire-framing, rapid prototyping, etc.)
  • An excellent on-line portfolio showcasing interaction design work for desktop, web, and mobile devices.
  • Adept at solving complex data visualization problems by turning data into meaningful insights for decision making.
  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Industrial Engineering, CS, Design or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to rapidly produce multiple UX/UI concepts.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to present work to executives and large product teams.
  • Experience with motion graphics and HTML/CSS prototyping (plus).
  • A keen understanding of social design language and patterns (plus).
  • Previous experience working in an Enterprise SaaS environment and / or a dynamic start-up (plus).
  • Mobile design experience (plus).
  • Your approach is user-centric.
  • You have a strong sense of curiosity, an ability to frame problems in new ways to drive your process and articulate your design thinking.
  • You thrive when working and collaborating with a cross-disciplinary team of designers, product managers and engineers spread across continents.
