The Role

To further TaxBit’s growth aspirations, we are looking for an experienced engineering recruiting leader to help lead and grow a team. This role will build and oversee a team of full-cycle technical recruiters, focused on their development and exceptional execution against hiring goals. 

You enjoy building and leading teams! You’ll drive strategic initiatives to optimize for the caliber and productivity of TaxBit’s engineering recruiting organization and collaborate closely with Engineering & Product leadership. 

Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to: helping to shape the future of the engineering recruiting team; owning the development and direct management of the engineering recruiting team; leading and managing cross functional projects; reporting; and performance management. 

You must be a builder who thrives in a learning environment—unafraid to try new things, embrace new ideas, and welcome suggestions for how we can iterate on our processes. You’ll partner closely with company leaders to drive key programs and initiatives that enhance TaxBit’s effort to attract, recruit, and retain diverse talent.

This role will ideally be based in Seattle, but location is flexible including remote.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, and scale a team of full-cycle technical recruiters to deliver excellent performance, develop their recruiting expertise, and facilitate their professional development
  • Partner with senior Engineering & Product leaders across the organization to understand hiring objectives and develop team recruiting strategies to hit headcount goals
  • Help initiate creative and scalable changes to our existing recruiting strategy and processes
  • Originate and build a clear diversity strategy alongside cross functional partners
  • Leverage data to define success metrics, measure productivity, and inform strategic decision making
  • Track and analyze metrics and report on hiring progress to business leadership at a regular cadence
  • Develop and lead recruiting focused projects to support our engineering hiring team
  • Continue to work on active reqs where necessary

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • 4+ years of recruiting management experience including a track record of leading a recruiting team through a high-growth period at a company with a top engineering culture (i.e., have led teams that have hired 100+ engineers in the last year)
  • Experience sourcing and closing senior engineering and engineering leadership profiles
  • Expertise for building teams, acting as an effective hiring partner, and delivering exceptional candidate experience
  • Experience regularly interfacing and communicating with executive leaders up to the C-suite
  • Proven abilities to attract passive senior candidates and build a diverse pipelines
  • Active and data driven approach to problem solving; you enjoy making sense of the trends and using the insights to better your process to make it more efficient
  • Growth mindset; you’re flexible and can shift tasks and priorities when circumstances change as they often do at a hypergrowth startup
  • Ability to develop more junior recruiters and provide coaching and guidance; you’re deeply energized by the opportunity to unlock potential in your direct reports
  • Strong project management skills and organizational rigor; distill complex processes into actionable steps
  • Demonstrated ability to help teams navigate complexity and build new processes
  • Stay up-to-date on technology and talent/recruiting trends; lead a forward-thinking motion for the TaxBit recruiting organization

Desired Skills

  • Desire to work alongside our People teams to innovate and iterate on recruiting processes
  • Interest in working in a cross-functional and fluid environment and the ability to learn quickly
  • Creative problem solver who can jump in as a player coach and support a growing team as they innovate and experiment with new aspects of their roles
  • Greenhouse experience not required but a plus
