About the role:

BetterUp is seeking a forward-leaning, forward-thinking, smart, hard-working, assertive Government Ecosystem Director to help develop and execute agreements in our public sector business. The BetterUp government business is looking for a person with extensive experience with federal, state, and local product and service acquisitions. We are seeking a person who can work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, hyper-growth environment. This person will be working in a matrixed environment functionally within the Alliances team, and accountable for the success within the Government team. Under limited supervision, the Government Ecosystem Director is responsible for activities that span market development, partnership creation, and supporting the entire sales cycle with the Government sales account teams. 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Chiefly responsible for the overall management and expansion of new and existing strategic teaming  partners, to grow revenue and market presence for BetterUp 
  • Formalize a Public Sector Alliance Program in alignment with company goals 
  • Nurture and expand strategic relationships with key teaming partner stakeholders 
  • Create opportunities for engagement and networking between BetterUp Sales and 3rd party teaming  Partners 
  • Develop go-to-market strategies for execution, with a focus on driving joint pipeline development and lead generation
  • Work collaboratively with Product, Legal, Marketing, and Sales throughout the Alliance Lifecycle from onboarding of new teaming partners through ongoing management and teaming partner expansion
  • Provide sales enablement on team partner capabilities and help to identify potential joint offering capabilities
  • Regularly interact with BetterUp cross-functional stakeholders across government sales, program management, legal, RevOps, finance, business development, and with customers as required
  • Participate in the maintenance across a wide variety of contracts including teaming agreements, coordinating with Sales where appropriate.
  • Working with the customer pursuit team, support responses to Requests for Information (RFI), including identifying contractual risk and preparing response content to mitigate those risks under BetterUp standards.
  • Working with the customer pursuit team, support Request for Proposals/Quotes (RFP/Q), to include reviewing the RFP/Q to guide the business on any contractual risks and writing questions or assumptions to clarify those risks.
  • Identify issues that are problematic or inconsistent with company processes or deliverables and provide follow-through until the issues are resolved by the respective internal departments, including sales.
  • Act as an advisor to business leaders on partnership matters and alignment with account objectives and priorities. Track and communicate the key issues and status of contracts relative to contract requirements.

If you have some or all of the following, please apply:

  • Must have the interpersonal skills to effectively manage cross-functional issues of varying degrees of complexity and work issues to resolution.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of in-house experience with federal, state, and local government contracting (particularly SaaS product and service acquisitions).
  • Experience working with public sector resellers, system integrators, and other teaming partners.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with a “get things done” attitude, team-oriented mentality, and a sense of humor.
  • Excellent time management, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and creatively and to develop win-win solutions.
