What Mongodb is looking for in applicants

The database market is massive (IDC estimates it to be $121B+ by 2025!) and MongoDB is at the head of its disruption. At MongoDB we are transforming industries and empowering developers to build amazing apps that people use every day. We are the leading modern data platform and the first database provider to IPO in over 20 years. Join our team and be at the forefront of innovation and creativity.

Help build, educate, and lead a vibrant technical community, which results in accelerated adoption of MongoDB Atlas Search. Your full-time job will be to help raise awareness of MongoDB Atlas Search and increase the visibility and understanding of MongoDB’s developer data platform among developers.  Search is a critical element of modern application development and this role offers an opportunity to have a real impact on its on-going adoption

The MongoDB developer advocacy team is a group of software developers who love helping other developers and enabling them to be successful. In joining our team, you’ll also join our mission to support developers to innovate. Our best days are spent helping developers write and deploy secure, reliable, and fault-tolerant software.

This is a role for an individual who wants to have an outsized impact within an organization. MongoDB is a place where talented, focussed individuals can move the needle for the whole company. Bring your best ideas and we can help you make them come to life.

The ideal candidate for this role should have a background in engineering and software development, significant experience in Search and Apache Lucene, database expertise, and knowledge and understanding of developer communities — through attending events, collaborating on open source software, or supporting users online. It also helps to have proven success in helping other developers to build reliable and scalable, fault-tolerant search-centric applications. They have a natural excitement about new technologies and the prospect of engaging with open source project maintainers and community members in person, through online forums, and on social media.

This role will be based remotely in New York, California, or Texas.

Highlights of the Role

Developer Advocates are technologists first and this role will enable you to use your expertise in creative ways. As a member of the team, you’ll have the opportunity to build and express your voice through various mediums, including web-based technical articles, videos and webinars. The only limit to the role is your creativity.
