Data is essential to the success of Airbnb. Use of derived data is increasing throughout Airbnb’s product surfaces. Data Frameworks team focuses on bridging the gap between online and offline derived data use cases by building frameworks & platform to easily transform and serve derived data to our application stack. We are looking for talented managers who can take our data services, frameworks and applications to the next level while ensuring our user data is protected and compliant.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the organizational and technical direction of our current and future data technologies.
  • Partner with privacy and security domain experts to ensure guardrails for data governance.
  • Evangelize best data practices and drive adoption across the company.
  • Play the key role in attracting top talent, mentoring individuals and building robust teams. 

About you:

  • 8+ years of relevant software development industry experience in a fast paced, high growth tech environment.
  • 2+ years of hands-on technical management experience.
  • Expertise with big data and security technologies such as Spark, Flink, Airflow, Kafka
  • Successfully partnered with Product, Data Science, Finance, Legal, and/or Compliance functions.
  • Track record in partnering with recruiting to build incredible engineering teams.
  • Actively coached and mentored team members in their careers.
  • Consistently made culture choices that positively impact all of engineering.

The starting base pay for this role is between $190,000 and $245,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, experience, and skills. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
