Communications & PR is looking for a seasoned media relations specialist who thrives in project management, storytelling, strategic media placement, nurturing relationships with key press and executives. Expertise in B2B, corporate communications with some consumer or general market knowledge as well as experience in executive event management is preferred. 

What you’ll do:

  • Help develop and drive a robust communications and storytelling media strategy for BetterUp EMEA. 
  • Execute communications strategy by driving interest and coverage in key media outlets including supporting timely brand announcements, product launches, and events.
  • Ability to news hack storytelling and timely topics, while supporting an evergreen media bureau  strategy through effective pitching and distribution mechanisms. 
  • Work cross-functionally with the broader marketing team to ensure coordinated, strategic and impactful brand-related announcements and support on an ongoing basis.
  • Help drive strategy for thought leadership, executive engagement and speaking opportunities. 
  • Maintain relationships and build new relationships with key journalists, influencers, thought leaders and other key industry stakeholders.
  • Drive the communications for our executives attending external and internal events in the region.
  • Engage influencers and executives through internally led exclusive events, designing the agenda, creating the contents and managing the logistics, leading a cross-team effort.
  • Keep different functions aligned and informed of regional priorities and report to the leadership with executive summaries and results.

If you have some or all of the following, please apply:

  • 8-10+ years of experience working in marketing, communications within public relations agency or in house and project management
  • Proven track record of strong media relationships, top tier media coverage, events management
  • Excellent communication skills, with knowledge of public relations best practices, brand management, and media strategies. 
  • Expertise in cross-functional project management
  • Experience in event management and coordination
  • Extensive relationships with key media, in business, industry and trade.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field;
  • Ability to collaborate with executives, brand spokespeople, and members of the media
  • Keen attention to detail, and the ability to stay organized and prioritize.
  • Openness and curiosity. We work to learn at BetterUp, and since the media landscape is constantly changing, we’re looking for someone who can be flexible in the face of ambiguity with a commitment to continuous learning.
