BetterUp is currently seeking an innovative and highly trained expert to serve as a Senior People Insights Consultant to guide federal agencies in unlocking the potential of their talent through personalized development. As a Senior People Insights Consultant, you will engage with senior executives in federal agencies and the Department of Defense to bring their vision of change and transformation to life with the BetterUp Solution Suite. A key component of this role is building rapport with partners (internal and external), advising them on how to apply best-practice behavioral science solutions to organizational challenges, using your consulting skills to present BetterUp solutions that address the prospect’s greatest business challenges, and leveraging customer data to generate meaningful insights and demonstrate the impact of BetterUp solutions on agency outcomes via compelling analytical storytelling. 

What you’ll do:

  • On the foundation of your deep human capital knowledge and expertise, you will develop a deep knowledge of our solutions to present to prospective customers how BetterUp can help agencies achieve their business objectives, reach breakthrough performance, and create an environment where all employees can thrive. 
  • In pre-sales, you will perform unrivaled professional discovery, presentation, communication and solution design skills to support the sales process. When necessary, you will also leverage your deep behavioral science knowledge to connect and share the science of BetterUp to the desired outcomes of the organization to drive efficacy and alignment. You will interface with, influence, and support the sales of BetterUp solutions to the office of the CHCO, CLO, and SES executives, among others. 
  • In post-sales, you will partner with the customer success team to bring to life the impact that BetterUp is having in our partner agencies by connecting qualitative and quantitative data to tell powerful and compelling stories of impact. You will lead insight-driven conversations and inform overall strategy to continually add value to our partners. You will have the opportunity to shape the product and direction of BetterUp by communicating important feedback to our Product team based on your conversations with customers. 
  • You will also be able to create and share thought leadership by generating customer-facing marketing and/or sales assets and through speaking engagements at industry events that bring to life the science and practice of BetterUp’s solutions.
  • Other key role responsibilities:
    • Manage multiple projects and stakeholders concurrently.
    • Effectively explain complex scientific concepts to any audience in the form of clear, polished presentations and/or responses to questions and challenges.
    • Synthesize quantitative and qualitative data to create engaging insights and recommendations for prospects and clients.
    • Agility and comfort with ambiguity to adapt and adjust to the market, the state of the organization and quickly shifting priorities.

 

If you have some or all of the following, please apply:

  • M.A. with a minimum of 7 years of consulting and/or business experience, ideally within an HR department or equivalent or minimum or 5 years experience with a PhD in behavioral science or a related field (e.g., business, organizational leadership). 
  • 5+ years expertise in behavioral science AND one or more of the following domains: Human Resources (HR), Learning and Development (L&D), Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Accessibility (DEIBA), employee well-being, employee engagement surveys and strategy, change management, performance management design, and/or people analytics consulting.
  • Facilitation and presentation skills, experience presenting to and engaging large audiences and stakeholders at the executive level.
  • Challenger mindset to influence executives to think differently about people development.
  • Amazing storytelling capabilities, with demonstrated success bringing solution designs to life and translating data into compelling impact stories.
  • Expertise and comfort working with quantitative and qualitative data (basic statistics, examining patterns, developing recommendations based on data).
  • Agility and comfort with ambiguity to adapt and adjust to the market, the state of the organization and quickly shifting priorities.
  • Highly collaborative to foster cross-team learning and drive team results.
  • Willingness to travel 30% time (should organizations start to open when travel becomes the norm).
  • Experience working with federal clients (e.g., federal consulting) or in public sector/federal agencies is strongly preferred.
