The Finance team is looking for a highly qualified Associate Principal to join Treasury Operations at Airbnb to support LatAm operations. Reporting to the Treasury Manager, the ideal candidate will have solid LatAm corporate and payments treasury experience and enjoy working in a challenging, fast–paced and high-growth environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- LatAm cash management: managing intercompany settlements and maintaining appropriate capital levels for operating needs to support Treasury’s cash liquidity strategies
- LatAm payments cash management: managing intercompany settlements related to fees, outbound, and inbound activity and maintaining appropriate funding levels for payment routes to support the platform
- Work with local management and legal teams to ensure banking structures are compliant with regional requirements for money transmission
- Partner with Payments product and engineering teams to analyze new product initiatives and impact to Treasury
- Enhance LatAm cash forecasting processes and prepare dashboards for bi-weekly reporting
- Process know-your-customer data requests from banking counterparties in region
- Prepare quarterly business reviews of banking partners, including scorecards, RFPs and RFIs
- Continually look to optimize processes, controls, and reporting within the Treasury Management System (Kyriba)
- Respond to inquiries and partner regularly with accounting, tax, legal, and AP teams; investigate and resolve exceptions
- New entity formation and entity/account rationalization support
- Support global Treasury Operations team with various ad hoc projects
- Maintain operating compliance and contribute to effective control environment
- Recommend and lead automation and other process improvement efforts
Requirements & Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in global corporate treasury
- Experience in a Payments or marketplace company a strong plus
- Strong Excel, SQL, and modeling skills
- Understanding of payments system architecture
- Experience in a high-growth start-up or large multinational
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
- Strong communication skills, ability to multitask and high attention to detail
- A strong understanding of financial and operational controls
- Team Player, high level of dependability and strong work ethic
- Enthusiastic, self-starter
- CTP a plus
- Passion for Airbnb and knowledge of the industry
