We’re looking for an experienced Interactive Brand Design Manager to join our design leadership team and help shape our brand, our team and the ways in which we operate as a design department. Design managers at Asana help their teams focus on creating the best brand experience for the user while ensuring we’re focused on solving the right problems with the best solutions. As a leader on the brand design team, you'll connect design, marketing, product and executive leadership to create work that is both beautiful and business impactful for the web.

The Brand Creative team at Asana is a tightly knit group of diverse creatives that makes thoughtful, beautiful brand design work across owned, earned, and paid channels. This is a highly collaborative role that works closely with marketing partners, product teams, and external agencies to develop and direct global interactive brand and marketing projects. The ideal candidate has a proven record in graphic design and UI/UX direction for the web, is strong in conceptual thinking and design development, and has a passion for scalable design systems.

What you’ll achieve

  • Manage a team comprised of UX and visual interaction designers while mentoring and creating growth opportunities for members of your team
  • Partner with strategists, writers, designers, producers, product managers, and leadership to shape our design vision for campaigns, brand experiences and customers experiences through Asana’s web properties
  • Scale the design team’s impact globally through extensive guidelines, shareable toolkits, and strong agency relationships
  • Provide hands on UI and UX design direction for high impact initiatives
  • Collaborate with design leadership to evolve our process, tools and systems to ensure we’re creating great, consistent work the best way possible
  • Lead web experimentation design and help to shape the future of data-driven web design for marketing
  • Ensure team members are creating high-quality work that delights our customers, meets company objectives, and reinforces our brand across all web channels
  • Partner with the design leadership and recruiting to expand our team, including sourcing candidates, interviewing candidates, and onboarding new employees
  • Inspire innovation and thoughtful artistry for Asana.com and other web properties as an advocate for great design across the company 
  • Co-create goals, success metrics, and strategy for your projects alongside our producer team
  • Work autonomously on open-ended problems that impact other programs, and drive coordination between team members

About you

  • 7+ years experience in interactive UI/UX design working in-house and/or at a creative agency
  • 2+ years as a people manager for designers in a fast-growing environment
  • Strong hybrid skill set of both of visual design sensibility and mastery of ux heuristics  – which allows you to move from high-level strategic conversation to coaching pixel-perfection design with ease 
  • Demonstrated expert-level experience in shaping organized processes and systems which support global organizations operating at scale
  • A proven track record of maximizing impact for yourself, your team, and your previous organization as a whole
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; you enjoy figuring out what needs to be done — and then doing it
  • A high level of comfort communicating directly with developers, while navigating nuances that ensure great web experiences get built correctly.
  • Experience with global brand design initiatives in B2B/SaaS space, a plus
  • Expert level understanding of visual graphic design principles and branding
  • Motion experience a plus
  • HTML/CSS knowledge a plus
