About the Role

As a Principal Technical Program Manager on the Twitch Community Health team, you'll establish and provide programs that keep millions of Twitch users safe.

Our growing team navigates a dynamic problem space to defend Twitch creators and viewers from harm. Community Health builds tech that: enables reporting and enforcement of harmful content, allows communities to self-moderate, and supports our Law Enforcement Response team. We invest in prevention of harm with machine learning as technology evolves.

As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will guide long-term strategy and tactical to provide complex cross-team programs, and report to the TPM manager for Community Health. You'll align roadmaps to program goals, and navigate complex tech, product, and business tradeoffs to provide solutions that keep users safe.

We are remote flexible with primary offices in San Francisco, CA; Irvine, CA and Seattle, WA.

You Will:

  • Work with the Law Enforcement Response team to improve our prevention of the most severe types of harm.
  • Create a program around a new technical approach to how we balance detecting bad actors across the site, while not inconveniencing good actors.
  • Set standards and influence other teams across Twitch to sustainably build new products with safety in mind, integrate with safety tech, and manage risk.
  • Manage emergent safety issues on prod, which will require your deep domain knowledge and also creativity.
  • Mentor TPMs & Engineers.
  • Investigate and provide recommendations for potential third-party tech integrations.

You Have:

  • Deployed large-scale technologies, with demonstrated experience resolving challenging business tradeoffs.
  • Experience managing multiple executive sponsors, partners, and cross-organizational dependencies.
  • Been a Principal Technical Program Manager for at least 1 year.
  • Comfort working on occasion with potentially sensitive or disturbing content.

Bonus Points

  • Domain experience in Trust & Safety and Law Enforcement Response.
  • Familiarity with creating long-lived internal tools that developers want to build in.
