The role

MessageBird is looking for a Business Development Director to sell to new high-value prospects and customers in the Netherlands. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, qualifying and closing new opportunities. You will have an assigned quota based on new business acquisitions while maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Your hunting ground will be the Netherlands. With plenty of defined key verticals such as E-commerce, Retail, Finance, and logistics, new logo wins will be second nature to you.

You’ll report to the Sales Director Netherlands and work in close partnership with Sales Engineering, Product Management, Customer Support/Success, Marketing, Legal, and Finance teams.

What you’ll do: 

  • Own the entire sales cycle to win and grow strategic accounts for MessageBird.
  • Develop the territory / vertical / account plan including top 10 target list to maximize growth and drive key territory penetration 
  • Employ a solution-selling methodology to facilitate customer evaluations and to help them understand MessageBird’s unique differentiation
  • Utilize industry and strategic knowledge to execute large, complex, strategic, business changing deals.
  • Own accurate forecasting and quarterly commit in Salesforce
  • Leverages an established network of references to win credibility
  • Works independently, with guidance in complex situations only
  • Representing MessageBird at face to face meetings, events and tradeshows
  • Develop and grow MessageBird visibility across multiple levels within the customer organization. Build relationships with C-Level and decision makers and navigate through DMU’s.
  • Work with internal teams in a collaborative manner to execute account-specific sales strategies and also to ensure smooth onboarding of the customer

What you’ll bring

  • 9+ years of progressively increased responsibility in B2B within the SaaS/Cloud/CPaaS space
  • Self-starter with a get-shit-done mentality that wants to build out the region
  • Track record of positioning and closing complex technical solutions including RFPs to enterprises and software companies in excess of EUR 300K+ ACV
  • Experience selling to a technical & business audience, building trust with technical customers and C-level executives
  • Experience with owning the entire sales cycle with a ruthless focus on execution.
  • A hunter’s attitude with a humble and resilient personality, with a bias for action. 
  • Strong understanding of the Dutch market. Prior experience with CpaaS is valuable.
  • Full professional proficiency in Dutch and English, both verbally and written.
