About the Role

We are looking for an experienced legal operations lead to join our team as our first legal operations hire. Your role as a member of the legal team will involve supporting the team by building, implementing, and managing organizational and operational processes and procedures to allow the legal team to support the growing scale of Ramp’s business efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for strategic planning and execution, legal information technology, managing the contracts approval and storage process, outside counsel and legal vendor management, finance and budget management, and working closely with partners in Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and other teams as the lead administrator for the department.

What You’ll Do

  • Support existing processes, procedures, tools, templates, playbooks, and knowledge management efforts throughout the department
  • Assist with improving processes and procedures, developing playbooks, and driving increased automation and effective use of technology solutions across contract and other legal matters management
  • Support employee equity plan administration by overseeing equity platform, option grants, transactions, and plan modifications
  • Serve as the primary legal liaison to the business to address questions related to legal department processes and ensure a clear understanding, including training, of the processes and procedures for working with the legal team
  • Select, implement, and serve as the primary administrator for legal department systems (i.e., document management and storage, entity, contract, equity management, and legal matters management systems)
  • Work with people and talent teams to support employment offer process and compensation management
  • Perform entity maintenance and other corporate secretarial functions for our legal entities
  • Take on learning the skills needed to review requested edits to some of our standard contracts such as NDAs and Referral Agreements
  • Evaluate the current environment, propose, and establish a budget for the team and develop a legal vendor management plan
  • Partner with FP&A on budgeting for the legal department
  • Liaise with outside counsel on budgeting matters, including requiring monthly accruals and forecasting

What You Need

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a legal operations manager, legal assistant, paralegal, or comparable role
  • Demonstrated experience of streamlining legal processes and coordinating contract and legal matter management systems
  • High level of experience managing various administrative tasks with ease
  • Track record as a strong partner for key business leaders, with great communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational abilities, and prioritization
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude
  • Experience in the fintech sector or high growth startup preferred
  • Experience working at a top law firm and/or in-house at a top technology company preferred
