Account Manager, West Coast - MessageBird Pusher | Remotely from the San Francisco Bay Area

Pusher’s APIs provide real-time capabilities to thousands of developers around the globe. Every day billions of messages are sent through millions of WebSocket connections to our servers. Through our many SDKs we make it easy for developers to make amazing real-time features like chat, live updates, and various collaborative tools. Last year Pusher joined forces with MessageBird and together we are transforming the

You’ll understand the developer community and be excited about the prospect of championing Pusher’s API products to them. Technical Demo’s will become second nature and you’ll leverage your passion for technology to develop exciting customer experiences. 

You should be able to understand our software, the customer use cases – and come up with examples of how other companies could benefit from Pusher’s APIs.

Ideally the successful candidate will be based in or close to the SF bay area, while the role will be home based there will be an expectation of some travel to customers and events in this area. 

The role: Account Manager

We are searching for a technically oriented Account Manager to engage with our community,  prospects and customers, able to own the full sales cycle and act as a trusted advisor to their assigned customers.

What you’ll do

  • Go hunt your own business with a developer-first mentality that allows you to immerse yourself into the developer world
  • Triage inbound interest from inbound enquiries and new signups in a seamless process.
  • Work with your assigned book of business to expand their product usage working closely with the customer success team.
  • Help key customer stakeholders champion Pusher within their organisations to expand our influence in their product roadmap and infrastructure.
  • Work closely with our Marketing and Developer Advocacy team to reach out to the developer community and champion Pushers Products. 
  • Help us continue our success story as part of the growing Messagebird family. We’re a global company with a great suite of products, you’ll be a key part of evolving our developer sales motion in North America.

What you’ll bring

  • An entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to get things done. 
  • Previous commercial experience in a SaaS company working in technical customer success, account management or technical account management roles, specifically interacting with customers about technical/software and/or developer-related solutions.
  • A well earned confidence about engaging with Developers and some of the most exciting names in global software. 
  • An understanding of the broader themes of the tech industry. You know the difference between a WebSocket and a Webhook; are familiar with the concepts of global networks; are comfortable discussing APIs; and understand Pusher's buy versus build value proposition.
  • A genuine passion for Pusher’s products and the ability to articulate that vision to prospects. 
  • A positive and collaborative style. You value and respect your contributions, and those of your teammates. You enjoy guiding customers on their journey to be more effective and connected. And you like building strong relationships within an organisation, becoming a trusted asset to your customers and colleagues.
