As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in producing and maintaining core datasets that power all Conviva products and drawing actionable insights from data that will influence strategic business decisions. You will work closely with Conviva’s big data platform team to design and develop new data models, schemas and metrics, and develop and own monitoring infrastructure, analytics tools and dashboards. You will also dive deeply into Conviva’s streaming video data to troubleshoot problems and help product developers make data-driven decisions. You will be the data expert and lead the development of the best practices around data analytics and reporting.

  • Explore, analyze and curate complex data sets
  • Design and develop new data models, schemas and metrics

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Good programming experience in Scala, Python, Java, C++, R, Matlab, or similar
  • Willingness to learn Scala (if no prior experience in that language).
  • Some training in statistical methods, e.g. a few undergraduate Statistics courses or equivalent.
  • Good communication skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

Preferred:

  • Some experience working with large, distributed datasets is strongly preferred. (That generally means software like Spark, Hadoop, Hive, BigQuery, Presto, Athena, etc.)
  • Software engineering experience, especially in software testing.
  • Experience with data architecture, e.g. data schema design.
  • Experience with data visualization and building dashboards.
  • Experience collaborating with software engineers.
  • Experience working directly with clients, customer reps, product managers, or designers.
