Airbnb is seeking an experienced Engineering Leader to define and execute a comprehensive platform strategy for global tax compliance & growth, business agility & performance, build global tax products, and drive world-class user experiences for Airbnb tax stakeholders.

Reporting to the Head of Fintech Engineering, this role will lead a cross-functional team that delivers on the platform strategy across the following pillars: tax quotation, tax user data, invoicing, and reporting.

Your Responsibilities

• Own the overall vision and strategy for the Tax Platform at Airbnb. You will be accountable for defining and implementing the technology roadmap that will transform global tax compliance and growth initiatives at Airbnb.
• Develop trusted partnerships with business, product, and engineering leaders to align critical initiatives. 
• Collaborate with the cross-functional leadership team to develop a roadmap and key metrics for executing the Tax Platform product strategy.
• Own translating and communicating technical strategy related to executing against business objectives as part of the senior leadership team.
• Champion engineering excellence, establish key metrics and drive continuous operational improvements.
• Determine hiring needs to execute against product roadmap and scale the engineering team, driving a recruiting strategy from your network, the team's network, and the recruiting team
• Mentor and coach engineers and create growth opportunities for your team members.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience leading technology teams with a proven track record of creating and leading high-performing teams.
• Experience with scaling and maintaining high-traffic, distributed production systems.
• Experience leading product engineering teams building customer-facing products.
• Experience with server-driven UI architectures, API design, and architecture patterns.

The starting base pay for this role is between $220,000 and $305,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, experience, and skills. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
