About the role

24sessions/MessageBird is looking for an eager Key Account Manager. In this exciting role, you will grow and solidify our position as the trusted partner of choice for video-calling at our largest enterprise sized customers (typically 1,000+ FTE). At the moment, there is a tremendous opportunity to grow our footprint with existing customers. You will become responsible to build strategic relationships with our key customers at C- and B-level contacts on the business and IT side. You will be responsible for driving the strategic plan for the account as well as managing  the renewal, upsell and cross sell activities at these customers.

You will be tasked with negotiating contract extensions, working with management to deliver forecasts, identify opportunities/challenges and recommend solutions. You will have a natural tendency to keep yourself informed on product development, competition and industry trends that may impact client business activities.

We need someone with a proven track record of renewal & expanding at large incumbent (financial) institutions. In order to be successful in this role you will need to understand the dynamics of big corporations, while having an entrepreneurial start-up mentality yourself. Both in mindset and experience. You are not a stranger in the world of SaaS solutions and are skilled in triggering new ways of working amongst your senior stakeholders. 

What You’ll Do

  • Your primary objective is growing, extending and prolonging software & services contracts with our existing customers. These are all large corporate companies in among others banking, utilities, insurance verticals.
  • The decision makers for your proposals are c-level executives from Business and IT.
  • You own all clients facing communication to your assigned customers, however larger clients often require a team effort / input.
  • You will build long term strategic account plans for your key customers 
  • You will be responsible for for renewing and expanding contracts
  • You will actively hunt for new opportunities within your accounts in new departments, regions or use cases
  • You act as a consultant to our customers and help them see the business value of 24sessions for their organisation. When relevant, you bring in leadership of 24sessions (CTO, CEO, head of CS) to drive the agenda for our customer.
  • You can convince people of a vision - both on the business and the IT side.
  • You are not intimidated to reach out to board level contacts to ask for a meeting.
  • You’ll be managing different stakeholders both internally as well as on the client side.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of progressively increased responsibility in B2B sales, business development or account management with the SaaS or Software space
  • Full professional proficiency in Dutch and English and both verbally and written 
  • Experience in closing multi million dollar (SaaS) enterprise deals
  • Ability to sell to C-level 
  • Not just a farmer but also able to hunt (High energy, proactive, commercial and outgoing)
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Proven track record in expanding and prolonging existing customer contracts 
  • Experience in managing & dealing with large complex enterprise customers and projects
  • Comfortable with increasing network within enterprises
  • Positive mindset, inspiring and a true team player
  • Strong consultative seller
