Marketing Assistant - MessageBird Pusher | Remotely from London

Pusher, a MessageBird company, powers connection. We are a developer tools company inventing realtime APIs to power communication and collaboration apps all over the world. Our easy, reliable platform provides developers everything they need to build scalable and interactive apps. If you read the Financial Times, send email with MailChimp, collaborate on inVision, or order food on DoorDash, you are using Pusher every day.

Our user base is growing astronomically and we are building with them in mind. We’re looking for a tech savvy Marketing Assistant to take charge of our operational activities and help us grow our community function. We’re looking for a positive and hands-on person to join our innovative team. You’ll enjoy collaborating on new ideas and have a talent for producing exciting copy. This role has a lot of room for growth and an awesome support team to take you to the next level.

You’re an enthusiastic graduate or junior with an interest in software and technology marketing, especially content creation. If you’re looking for a content-focused role which will let you explore and grow with an industry leader, this is the role for you!

What you’ll do

  • Supporting the creation and production of a wide range of marketing initiatives and collateral
  • Working closely with in-house design team to source asset production for marketing campaigns
  • Coordinating newsletter scheduling
  • Assisting the Community Manager with the management of community meetup events
  • Overseeing the production of our brand swag and manage inventory and campaigns via our distributor
  • Supporting the writing of copy for paid ads, newsletters and social media
  • Tracking and understand campaign engagement analytics for our campaigns
  • Publishing content to various CMS using SEO best practices (including technical SEO - i.e. make sure that the metadata is updated according to SEO/ Google best practices)  and maintain consistent tone of voice across platforms
  • Assisting with team best practices
  • Doing keywords research and planning for organic and paid content
  • Staying up to speed on Google updates to assist with potential impact

What you’ll bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, english or writing, or equivalent experience in an active role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an eye for great copy
  • A good understanding of social media platforms and how to leverage different channels for audience engagement
  • Strong organisation and administrative skills
  • Some knowledge of SEO best practices and the content production lifecycle
  • Experience with CMS platforms like WordPress, Prismic or Contentful and email platforms like Customer.io
  • A passion for tech and working with developers, and enthusiasm for growing in the industry. (Understanding of the SaaS/CPaaS industry and APIs is great - this knowledge can be developed over time.)
  • An understanding of Google Analytics, Google best practices and paid and organic content
  • Some experience writing professional content for online audiences
