The role: Business Development Manager - Germany | Remotely from Germany or any other EMEA country

MessageBird is looking for a New Business Development Manager to sell to new high-value prospects and customers. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for actively reaching out to enterprise and SME clients, building a pipeline, and closing new opportunities. You and other team members will look primarily after Germany with a potential growth into Austria and Switzerland. You will have an assigned quota while maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Your hunting ground will be Germany. With plenty of defined key verticals such as, E-commerce, Retail, Travel & Airlines, Finance, and logistics, new logo wins will be second nature to you.

You’ll report to the General Manager Germany and work in close partnership with Sales Engineering, Product Management, Customer Support/Success, Marketing, Legal and Finance.

What you’ll do

  • You will work based on the Target Account list to do prospecting, running sales cadences, identifying decision-makers and connecting with them, developing the relationship, negotiating and closing high-value opportunities positioning our CPaaS Platform to clients.  You will own the entire commercial engagement from proposal development, pricing strategy, negotiation to closing.
  • Work with internal teams in a collaborative manner to execute account-specific sales strategies and also to ensure smooth onboarding of the customer
  • Develop and grow MessageBird visibility and relationships across multiple levels within the customer organization. Navigate through decision-makers and influencers, identify opportunities for cross-selling and upsell.
  • You will be responsible for new customer acquisition and drive new revenue. 
  • Employ a solution-selling methodology to facilitate customer evaluations and to help them understand MessageBird’s unique differentiation
  • Keep up-to-date records of Sales Activities, Opportunities, and Accounts in Salesforce 
  • Be responsible for building and maintaining sufficient pipeline coverage
  • Operations to design mutually beneficial contracts to address customer requirements and balance the needs of our business
  • Representing MessageBird at events/tradeshows

What you’ll bring

  • 5+ years of progressively increased responsibility in B2B within the SaaS or Software space
  • Full professional proficiency in German and English and both verbally and written. 
  • Track record of personal selling and closing complex technical solutions to enterprises and software companies in excess of EUR 100K
  • Experience with creating pricing proposals, negotiating terms, and managing the contract process with a fearless and a ruthless focus on execution. Prior experience within CPaaS offerings is very helpful
  • Strong working understanding of Enterprise Mobility and Security offerings. Prior experience within CPaaS offerings is very helpful
  • Experience selling communications to a technical and business audience, building trust and mutual respect with technical customers and peers would be a bonus!
  • World-class interpersonal and communication skills to make complex contractual, technical, and financial details sound simple. Confident and effective communicator with the ability to influence individuals and groups at all levels
  • Organized and efficient. Self-starter attitude and you independently tackle challenges
