About Invoca

Invoca is the industry innovator in AI and machine learning-powered conversation intelligence technology. Forrester Research identified Invoca as a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Conversation Intelligence: Sales And Marketing, Q4 2021 report, stating that "Invoca is one of the few established conversation intelligence vendors that can legitimately claim AI capabilities."

With over 300 employees, more than 2,000 customers, and nearing $100M in revenue, there are tremendous opportunities to continue growing the business. We are building a world-class SaaS company, having raised over $100 million from Accel, Upfront Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, Morgan Stanley, and H.I.G. Growth Partners.

At Invoca, we live by our four core values:

  • Figure it Out: we take ownership of our work and are given the freedom to blaze our own trails.
  • Help Each Other Thrive: we foster an inclusive and humble culture that allows us to build value for both our customers and people.
  • Continuous Improvement: we challenge the status quo every day to develop creative solutions that make our products better and our customers more successful
  • Light the Customer's Way: we don't just sell a product or turn on a service; we are partners and trusted advisors who support and invest in our customers and their success.

If these values resonate with you, we encourage you to come join us - we are building something special.

The Role and How You Will Impact the Company

We are looking for an individual to partner with our CEO / CFO, and by extension the entire executive team, to drive strategy and corporate development at Invoca. You will cover a variety of areas, from evaluating potential M&A targets to assessing organic growth opportunities and assisting with geographic market expansion. This will require close partnership and collaboration cross-functionally with the go to market, product / engineering, and finance teams. You will identify, source, conduct diligence on, and execute potential acquisition and partnership opportunities in specific areas of the digital marketing, CRM, contact center, and customer experience markets. You will also be an ambassador for Invoca in these categories and within our broader ecosystem, exploring strategic opportunities to work with other industry leaders. We will look to you for creative insights, market knowledge, and data-driven approaches as we scale the business.

The core of your responsibilities will be collaboration with the executive team in shaping the future of the company. Recent examples of how we are pursuing our growth strategy include the acquisition of DialogTech and our organic product expansion with Invoca for Sales.

Location

Given the focus of this role on building relationships with partners and software startups, we have a preference for candidates in major tech hubs (SF Bay Area, Seattle, Boston, New York, Austin, Denver, LA, etc.) However, we are open to remote locations as well, with the expectation that some travel will be required in a post-COVID environment.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Experience in venture capital, management consulting, investment banking, or corporate development. Strong preference for exposure to enterprise software businesses, either as an operator, investor, consultant, or financial partner
  • Excellent strategic thinker who can identify relevant business opportunities and independently conduct assessments and diligence
  • Thought partner who can collaborate with functional executives to dive deep into relevant areas of detail
  • Quantitative, detail-oriented, and data-driven thinker who can build financial models to vet strategic options. You will need to be familiar with DCF models, identifying comparable companies / relevant transactions, and the like
  • Experience structuring investments or acquisitions; proven deal negotiation skills; and familiarity with associated business, legal, cap table, and financial terms; and experience dealing with bankers, lawyers, and other M&A related advisors
  • High energy communicator who can engage at the executive, CEO, and board levels and deliver insightful, coherent written analyses
  • Demonstrated mix of strategic business perspective and "roll up your sleeves" execution. To be successful, you will need to be comfortable in a startup environment that evolves quickly
  • Knowledge of the digital marketing, CRM, customer experience, or contact center markets is preferred, but not required
