We are looking for an exceptional engineering leader with a proven record of delivering consistently in high growth and high scale environment with exemplary leadership qualities. This leader is expect to play a vital role in supporting high growth business and drive innovation required to design and develop the next generation of highly scalable, modular and extensible Big Data Platform. The platform supports real-time, near real-time and offline analytics and is build to scale to process petabytes of data with clear SLA. As an Engineering Manager at Conviva Bid Data Platform team, you are highly technical and experienced in building solutions using the mature and emerging big data storage technologies. You must attract and assemble teams of the best talents, mentor and help the team members grow. You must keep the teams highly motivated and well organized; plan strategically and tactically, and execute with the best engineering practices and disciplines; delivering the big data storage platform and features with high scalability, stability, reliability, resiliency and cost-effectiveness in the production environment with significant business impacts for the years to come. As a technical leader, you are also expected to work across engineering teams and other organizations, executive management team, customers and external partners.

 

What you get to do:

  • Develop Resource, Capacity, Execution, Platform Cost Management and Risk Mitigation plans, addressing immediate and long-term storage needs.
  • Develop and prioritize technology roadmap in close collaboration with technology leaders to deliver product requirements with clear SLA.
  • Ensure execution of roadmap in a timely fashion with optimal quality and fiscal responsibilities.
  • Build, communicate and execute Big Data Platform 2SSR plans (Scalability, Stability, Reliability and Resiliency) to stay ahead of the explosive traffic growth and computation needs with stringent SLA.
  • Lead conflict resolution, Incident Resolution Management, and prioritization of CCB (Change Control Board requests).
  • Lead creation of written incident reports, success stories and communicate to internal and external audience, as needed, in a timely fashion.
  • Lead data-driven decision-making-process - define KPI and Metrics to measure Big Data Platform performance, team performance and evolve metrics on an on-going basis.
  • Attract, hire and retain top engineering talent.
  • Mentor and grow team members, ensuring their continued growth and development to keep them motivated.
What you bring to the role:
  • BS in CS or equivalent, Masters preferred.
  • 8+ years of software engineering with 5+ years of Big Data Storage experience.
  • Experience with big data storage technologies (such as Phoenix/HBase, Redshift, Presto/Athena, Hive, Spark SQL, Snowflake, Impala, BigTable, BigQuery, Druid and Clickhouse), Messaging layers (such as Kafka and Kinesis), and Cloud and container-based deployments (such as Docker and Kubernetes).
  • Experience of working in a complex, service-oriented software development environment; experience with building large-scale micro services preferred.
  • Proven track records of leading high-performance teams with timely and high-quality deliveries.
  • Proven record of developing and commercially deploying a highly scalable storage platform leveraging different database technologies.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and operationalize emerging technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer Obsession, Proactive and out-of-box thinking, exemplary leadership skills to inspire the team, and drive innovation at the grass-root level.
