The Financial Analyst will support our worldwide and business unit financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis. The Financial Analyst will also be responsible for the financial and analytical aspects of key business decisions, go-to-market strategies, resource allocation, specific customer contracts, and partnership decisions. The Financial Analyst is expected to make significant contributions to the success of MongoDB by enabling executives and team leaders to make better decisions and will work closely with them to evaluate, plan, execute, and measure strategic business initiatives.

This position requires an analytical self-starter who is able to work comfortably with stakeholders across the organization, takes tasks from start to finish, and someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

We are remote optional through April 4, 2022 afterwards this role will be in-office in our New York City office long-term.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for company forecast model, including detailed bookings and revenue forecasts
• Work closely with Sales and Commissions teams on the development and evaluation of our annual sales compensation plans
• Refine our monthly revenue updates and ARR forecasts by product
• Enhance cost of revenue forecasting, including by product and channel gross profit forecasts
• Drive regular insights and reporting on trends observed in revenue/bookings/billings
• Evaluate sales trends and customer performance to recommend improvements and accurately forecast the business as it evolves
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses and build financial models to inform teams on operating strategies, investment recommendations, and new business opportunities
• Assist in the creation of Board materials and executive updates; prepare and maintain monthly and quarterly reporting

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in FP&A, Business Ops or Sales Ops, and/or possess superior analytical, critical thinking, and quantitative skills
• Experience with database management tools (SQL, etc.) and large datasets
• Proficiency in Excel, experience with financial modeling preferred
• Ability to forge strong relationships with business partners at all levels of the organization
• Flexibility (open to change) and ability to learn on the fly
• Drive for results & high sense of urgency
• Ability to multi-task & prioritize
• Rigorous attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
