MongoDB is presenting an exciting opportunity for a passionate Information Security Manager to help lead a novel area of MongoDB’s SaaS Security team. This team is specifically focusing on Corporate SaaS Security.

The MongoDB Security Team is responsible for the Information Security Program for MongoDB Inc; helping to reduce risk in our systems, company and to help establish trust in our product offerings and cloud services. Our customers are both our internal MongoDB employees and our external customers. 

Role Description

• MongoDB is looking for an experienced Infosec Manager to join our security team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years+ of experience in Information/Cyber Security and at least 1+ year experience leading a team
• Primary focus of this role will be leading highly talented engineers to address security gaps in Corporate SaaS space as well provide vision for this space longer term. This will include developing novel approaches and tools for SaaS security (like SOAR), creating and utilising industry best practises and expanding the team
• 3rd party SaaS applications in this context can be defined as “productivity” and “corporate” SaaS platforms which are used by hundreds or thousands of MongoDB employees. This role will not be specifically focused on PaaS tools like Amazon, GCP, Azure - although some overlap is possible and necessary

Candidate Profile

• Candidates for this role should be fluent in a variety of information security tools, including some Cloud-based technologies. Ideal candidates will also have experience in managing teams and presenting to senior management
• This position requires strong communication skills, knowledge of Information Security controls, and ability to manage business and infosec risks in a globally distributed environment
• Manager’s responsibility will be to create strategy, oversee technical implementation of hardening controls and ensuring alignment with business objectives. The team will also need to monitor emerging threats and notify owners of new risks
• Reporting to the senior director of Information Security , this role comes with considerable autonomy and opportunities

Candidate Skill Set

• Ability to create strategy in different areas of information security and execute this strategy
• Rapidly understand and assess new technologies
• Ability to manage engineers and communicate with globally distributed teams and multitasking are essential
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to a modern, fast-paced organisation
• Interest in rapidly expanding world of SaaS security 
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in cyber security 
• Be familiar with different SaaS technologies like Salesforce, or PaaS technologies like AWS, GCP, GSuite
• Demonstrated ability to create scripts and automated processes interfacing with REST APIs 
• Be Fluent in variety of security technologies
• Experience utilising SaaS management tools like CASB is desired
• Willingness to work with different technical teams on finding elegant solutions to complex problems, managing them to resolution and release
• Educate Engineers, winder infosec team and application owners on the important of SaaS Security and associated risks 

Success Measures

The Information Security Engineer, SaaS security will be successful in this role when they can execute the following strategic tasks: 

• People: Ability to manage and tutor Infosec engineers
• Organisation: Ability to execute on strategy and complex projects and utilise risk-based approach for prioritisation
• Communication: Successfully communicate your recommendations and rationale to team members and both technical and semi-technical resources
• Research: Research modern approaches to security problems, offensive and defensive processes, tooling and techniques
• Creative: Find creative yet simple solutions to complex problems in order to lower the infosec risks to MongoDB

This is an important role to help us lead the capabilities of the Information Security Program for a breakthrough company that is disrupting a $80B market. This position has significant growth potential and we’re looking for someone who is excited to take initiative and help secure our company. 

This position will report directly to the Senior Director of information Security, EMEA.
