Continually recognized as a leader for innovation and growth, Drift is expanding our R&D teams and opening a Center of Excellence in Guadalajara, Mexico and looking for our initial leader to oversee the build out of our new conversation space.  In this role, you will directly impact the build out of our expansion in Mexico; including recruiting and hiring the initial team, opening our first conversation space and developing a winning culture for Drift. The recent investment from Vista Equity Partners has accelerated our rapid growth, under the leadership and guidance of our LatinX founders, and created a fast, exciting workplace where curious and determined people solve real business problems to help customers every day. 

What you’ll be doing on the team:

• Own the design process for two teams, collaborating day-to-day with the product manager and engineers, and working closely with Product Marketing and our Customer Service teams
• Spend time talking to customers, deeply understanding their problems and workflows, and validating that your design solutions solve their problems
• Contribute new controls or design improvements to our design system (Tide) to help ensure consistency across products 
• Consult with our researchers to conduct customer interviews and usability tests 
• Take one-pagers that your PM has written (our version of specs that you can learn about here: https://www.drift.com/blog/one-pager/) that describe customer problems and turn them into potential solutions

• Ship a TON of product improvements and features (seriously, you’ll be amazed when you look back at what you’ve accomplished!)

• Impact Drift’s growth substantially through your amazing design work

About you and what type of skills you’ll need:

• You have 3+ years of experience as a Product Designer or UX Designer.
• You have experience conducting research and using that research to drive the design direction.
• Collaboration is exciting to you and you enjoy understanding the perspectives of others.
• You’re dedicated to your craft and want to work amongst a team that will inspire you on a daily basis.
• You can take candid feedback well and are looking to grow.
• You are OK with multi-tasking and can synthesize multiple perspectives to get the most important thing done.
• You are detail oriented and organized. 
• You love listening to customers, discussing strategy with colleagues, but also diving into the weeds.
