About the team and role

The Benchmarking team is a diverse group of professionals, who work across Product/Market, Finance, Internal Operations, and Customer Loyalty. We collaborate with teams across our organization to drive decision making on our highest level company priorities. The intern will join a growing team within the benchmarking function that provides competitive intelligence and insights to cross-functional teams and leadership to support informed and data driven decisions that would make Robinhood win customer dedication long term.

The successful applicant will spend 12 weeks assessing a major opportunity area - potential projects could include: analyzing a competitor’s business model, gauging the quality of internal operations, sizing a market opportunity, or generating new dashboards that contextualize performance. In joining the team for the summer, interns will help deepen Robinhood’s understanding of the competitive FinTech environment and help guide our strategic decision making.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic problem solver, who can scope projects, conduct research, analyze information, and distill/present insights. Interns will partner cross-functionally at all levels of the organization to capture information, test hypotheses, and share results.

Your day-to-day will involve:

• Research and Analytics: Source, structure, and analyze data to identify threats and opportunities.
• Program Management: Support sophisticated programs, align scope with cross-functional partners and present results to team members across the entire organization.
• Strategic Thinking: Explore new opportunities and consolidate findings into data-driven conclusions that support forward-thinking strategy.
• Industry and Marketplace Expertise: Become a go-to guide for your works team, developing a sound understanding of industry trends, standard methodologies, innovations, and competitive insights.
• Navigating Ambiguity: Distill sophisticated business problems into their essential elements and prioritize work that helps Robinhood improve and grow.

Some things we consider critical for this role:

• Currently enrolled in an MBA program.
• 3+ years of related experience, ideally at a credible management consulting firm, investment firm, or a strategy or operations role at a technology company.
• Robust qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and strong intuition for business.
• Ownership mentality, be creative in your approach, and know how to get things done.
• Self-starter who can navigate ambiguity and a constantly evolving work environment.
• Strong communicator with broad facilitation skills; able to influence decision making and engage audiences across levels and functions.
• Advanced Excel skills, including use of index match, pivot tables etc.

Bonus points:

• Solid understanding of financial statement analysis
• Intermediate-level SQL and basic knowledge of other programming languages
• Lean/ Six Sigma certifications
