The Strategic Accounts Developer Relations team educates and empowers our largest customers to execute enterprise scale technology transformations and migrate from legacy RDBMS based application development to NoSQL. MongoDB is uniquely positioned amongst all NoSQL vendors to support almost any workload deployed within the enterprise from common OLTP applications to Data Lake services and everything in between. We operate as internal allies for customers with large technical teams to assist them ramp up internal skills to make MongoDB a strategic platform for their business and accelerate time to value.

You will be a part of a global developer advocacy team based in Dublin, New York, Austin and San Francisco. We encourage and support remote employees and the majority of the developer relations team work remotely, however this role will eventually require onsite interactions with customers. If minimizing travel is a priority the candidate should be based on the US West Coast. 

Current knowledge of MongoDB is not required, but candidates must be deeply familiar with at least one NoSQL database technology and comfortable writing code in Java, C#, Go, Ruby and/or Node.js. Candidates should also be familiar with at least one major cloud service provider such as AWS, Azure and GCP.

This role will be based remotely in North America.

Candidate Profile

• Our ideal candidate will have past hands-on product development experience at the senior SDE level as well experience working in enterprise environments on technology transformation and/or large scale service delivery initiatives
• You are deeply technical and comfortable presenting both in person and online to a technical audience
• You are not afraid of taking a presentation to the whiteboard and are just as comfortable talking about technical content with or without a slide deck
• You have delivered content at major technical conferences such as MongoDB World, AWS re:Invent, Microsoft Ignite, etc
• You should be an expert teacher with the ability to explain complex issues in a simple understandable manner
• You must be able to command the respect of your technical peers in the pre-sales, consulting and engineering organisations at MongoDB
• You must be able to write clearly and concisely
• You have excellent software engineering skills

Position Expectations

• Work with Strategic Account teams to increase adoption of MongoDB and NoSQL technology within customer technical communities and product initiatives
• Keep up to date with key developments on AWS, Azure and GCE
• Run large scale training engagements within strategic customer accounts that run across multiple sites including deep dive design reviews and data modeling sessions with individual service teams for real customer workloads.
• Be able to present off the cuff or dive into a design review that includes breaking down access patterns, data model whiteboarding and delivering technical guidance for the customer with a minimum amount of preparation
• Learn new technologies fast and be able to explain it to others
