About the team 

The External Affairs and Community (XAC) team is focused on adding another dimension as to why people turn to Robinhood: our mission, our commitment to expand financial access, and our positive force to transform lives around the world. Through innovative ideas, meaningful engagements and strong stakeholder relationships, we aim to drive inclusivity in the financial sector. 

About the role:

Within XAC, the Stakeholder Relations team leads engagement with the following stakeholder groups: 1) community-based organizations, 2) public policy groups and 3) customers. We are looking for a Community Strategist to support the Stakeholder Relations team’s engagement with our customers. As it is a newer function at Robinhood, you will have the opportunity to help shape something new by building Robinhood’s customer community program. The core focus of this role will be to assist in the strategy development for how Robinhood can build a sense of community among current and future customers and to launch innovative and delightful ways to engage this base.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a team player who drives positive, cross functional collaboration; an independent contributor with thorough precision; and have the ability to help build sustainable, scalable practices. 

What you’ll do day-to-day:

• Support strategic planning, communications and event planning with Robinhood’s Customer Community – our most active and loyal customers. 
• Create new programs to engage our Customer Community and innovate on our existing programs.
• Serve as the spokesperson for Customer Community activities and attend events in person as needed. Build communication plans in line with the Communications and Brand team. (25% travel expected).
• Draft concise, strategic background documents and slide decks related to customer programming on quick turnarounds. 
• Foster, build, and maintain relationships with customers to identify our most loyal and active customers and drive retention. 
• Establish the trust and safety standards for the customer community.
• Stay up to date with our product roadmap and the latest industry trends to discuss with customers. 
• Work cross-functionally to develop effective feedback loops to ensure key insights from the community are being captured and delivered to the appropriate teams internally. This will include Customer Experience, Brand, Communications, Product, Research and others.
• Track and report metrics to understand impact and effectiveness.
• Draft and update FAQ for questions related to Robinhood’s customer community and related events. 
• Source employee participants and expert speakers to join customer engagements and create and implement guidelines for internal and external participation within the community.

About you:

• BA/BS degree
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience as a successful community manager or corporate event planner 
• Customer focused attitude, a Robinhood value
• Has organized or been a part of a brand ambassador program
• Experience with hosting or organizing events
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a close attention to detail
• Self-starter and ambitious learner who is comfortable with ambiguity
• Proven record of running multiple projects in coordination with staff, consultants, vendors, and other partners in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to establish strong cross-functional working relationships across sectors, functions and geographies
• Highly organized and able to build from the ground up

Bonus Points: 

• 3+ years of dedicated customer community management experience
• Experience in the finance industry, or related field
• Experience with recruiting and onboarding processes
• Experience with public speaking, presenting at large meetings or moderating live events
